Sad. It’s why you teach your kids to not get involved in domestic disputes. Cops even get killed wading in those waters. Leave it to the pros and call 911. It wasn’t their business.

Yea I have to concur with many of you. While we should (on some level) appreciate the fact that there are still some MEN willing to involve themselves and try and help those in need, outside of that fact, these men should have just called the Police and let them do what they are trained to do.

Other than it being my daughter or sister, I’d be hard pressed to come to some broads defense, hell I don’t know what she did.

Plus, 9 times out of 10 the broad is going to defend and/or stay with the abuser anyways!!!!

So, how this will play out:

1) girlfriend will say she was not in danger and “we do this all the time”.

2) the idiot will say “i saw two men (read: Black) approaching me in a threating manner and felt i would be killed.

3) the idiot at best will get a couple of months (probably unregistered firearm) and a years worth of probation for kicking the skanks azz.

4) Black folk will learn another hard lesson about worrying about other folks and trying to take care of them…

I do commend what the young men probably were trying to do and their intent, but at the end of the day sometimes you just gotta “stay in your lane”…

Thanks for confirming you stupidity. My statement was in regards to a woman being beaten, someone stepping in to help, & getting shot. It has nothing to do with race. As for my Chris Brown comment, im sorry if you little mind isnt complex enough to understand to link. I would think people would be more on the “i feel sorry for him” or “thats sad” side instead of the “he got what he deserved’ or “he shouldve stayed out of it” way of thinking.

It’s like the old saying goes, “Let no good deed go unpunished” and this poor man lost his life trying to help someone out.

If this man is truly punished, I am willing to bet it will be because he was beating his girlfriend, more so than killing the guy.

This is very sad indeed. We can never get past racial issues because people continue teaching their children to not accept another race as equal. They are so ignorant that they seem to not realize their children will have to work with other races and their children’s way of thinking can hinder their sucess in life or better yet claim their life. (Not applying the last statement to the young man here what so ever, he stood up as we all should do but the reality is this is what can happen when people try to do the right thing.) It doesn’t matter how much money has been spent on children’s education,…. they can still be very ignorant, plus they may not always have to answer to their own race on a job. A future manager may not be racist but has witnesses how you have treated another employee and when you sit down in the interview what would be the right thing to do then?,….Not hire that racist person because they will eventually cause trouble and really when you are serious about your carrer and taking care of your family, one doesn’t want to bother with these kind of people, at all!!! The more people try to hide their racism, the more it shows. People that are not racist can tell easily when someone is,…. and I am speaking for any specific race here I see it in all races for different reasons. I have seen people of color angry at all white people because of history and treat a white person that had the kindest heart so very wrong just because of history between our races. I have had a white person explain to me how they were not racist and stand their in the very next breath and say I have hugged a black person. (Classic case of how the more people try to hide it the more it shows.) I just overlooked the comment because I recognized that it was out of being ignorant and that it was also a taught behavior. I have met Mexicans that could not speak a word of English but were scared to speack to anyone because they get it on all ends for econimic reasons. People from China get it because people feel they come here and get loans that we can not get and we were born and raised right here. Indians stay to themselves for the most part. My point is it is sad as I just read on another post about one player hitting and killing someone and only getting 30 days for it and Mike Vick went for much more time for dogs (I don’t know if it was actually 30 days but I got he point and it should really open our eyes, and for the records take note that both men were that of color. It just goes to show that things are not as they should be and this holds true in a lot of areas of life. I didn’t say all of this to agree with making this a racial issue but to express that a lot of people of the world of today are not giving one moment of thought to repecting other people or themselves for that matter. Really, this is not a black vs. white issue. It is two people that decided to get involved in a violent situation and they got hurt. Many times, especially in domestic violence situations you don’t know how a situation is going to turn. Many time the woman may turn on the people that are defending them and get them killed. It is better to just call 911.

I stumbled across this site while looking into this… Perry was my friend back in college. We were roommates along with 2 of our black friends/teammates. We were always together and lived like brothers. Perry left for the war and spent a while in ground zero of Iraq. And the rest of us went our separate ways and have barely spoken since we all moved out. Perry loved everyone, he has a huge heart and would reach out to anyone in need.

He was not married when this happened… he was broken up with his girlfriend who came over with 2 guys to get her stuff out of the apartment. Now this is where this blog is going wrong… It doesn’t matter if the guys are white, black, hispanic or whatever. If you were to ask any guy you know if he would go with a female to move her things out of a (ex)guys house, anyone with any street smarts at all would stay away from that situation. Its dangerous.

I do understand that media is twisted… not only about race, but politics, etc… But the bottom line is that nobody has totally released the evidence of what happened that night. I, too, am from Madison and would like to reiterate that this blog’s post is erroneous on many accounts. Perry was not married and he certainly was not beating a woman in his apartment. His ex brought 2 random guys over to his apartment late at night to gather some of her personal belongings. They all head a head full of steam and wanted to be heroes. I do not believe this to be a matter of race but I do not discredit anyone’s opinion. I only wish this phony, hackjob, website would research the facts before posting any more news stories with completely false premises.

Do some research on the guy, this was not racially motivated at all. It is a case of self defense on one side and a case of wanting to help out on the other. The only ones that know the truth are the 6 people involved in this.
