Rapper Takes Plea Deal In Girlfriend Beat Down

Ex-reality TV star Yung Berg admitted his guilt in attacking then-gal pal Masika Taylor under a plea deal that will keep him out of jail.

The rapper pled guilty Friday to one count of harassment in Manhattan Criminal Court for his assault on Taylor in their New York City hotel room last year. Judge Steven Statsinger sentenced Berg to complete a batterer’s intervention program.

Prosecutors said Berg punched, choked and dragged Taylor across the room after they argued about his credit card being declined. Producers from Love & Hip Hop fired Berg days after his arrest.

Berg, dressed in black jeans, a leather vest and Air Jordans, nodded and said “Yes, your honor,” when the judge asked him if he was guilty of harassment.

Harassment is a violation and not a crime in New York, so Berg – real name Christian Ward – won’t have a criminal record.

The judge also issued a final order of protection, which means Berg has to say away from Taylor permanently.

Ever the charmer, the rapper hugged a reporter outside court when she asked him his thoughts on the case.

“Thank you babe,” he said. “Everything’s good.”
