The recession has already claimed its fair share of celebrity lines from Mandy Moore’s Mblem to Lauren Conrad’s eponymous clothing line going on hiatus, and now WWD is reporting that Jennifer Lopez is following suit and shuttering the doors on her Sweetface line.
After six years, Sweetface is halting production after the spring 2009 line, which is in stores now. Sweetface started in 2003 as a urban streetwear spin-off to the JLO by Jennifer Lopez line, but soon became a high end contemporary line.
While Sweetface isn’t over forever — the company plans to relaunch with a new vision– no date has been set for its return to stores. But if you are a dedicated J. Lo shopper, you are still in luck — her JLO by Jennifer Lopez line still sells in 40 countries outside of the U.S, and she has six highly successful perfumes with another on the way later this year.
Don’t feel bad for J-Lo. She’ll come up with some other wack @ss way to gank you for your loot.

I thought her line was called J-Lo??? I just heard about “Sweetface” a couple of days ago.
That’s why I’ll just stick to good ol’ Cross Colours, I.O.U, Paco, Yes and my Starter Jacket. Been rocking with me since the early 90s and still tickin’!!

once she stopped being JLO, it was finito. She got too cool for her own good. Not realizing, THEY only liked her, cuz she was supported by us. Even tried to cross over with the Ben Affleck cat, but they reminded her that she was PR, so she settled for skelator. Chicks loved him, b4 he got with her.

The quality of fabric is very cheap.i once saw a 400.00 dollar brown jacket from her line.that should have never been sold.
most of these celebrity lines look cheap to me,I dont buy any of them,they just make clothing because of their name,there are so many talented designers who go to school for design,that are so creative,they just dont have the name

I heard of the line and it looks cheap, cheap, cheap. I’ve always wonedered how this woman could put her name on such cheap looking clothes.
I was in Washington, DC recently for a meeting and was talking to this lady who says that she helps to broker “brand deals” for a lot of these stars (J Lo/anyone with a clothing or perfume line). Of course I had to ask her what she meant by “brand deals?”
Here’s how she explains it. An unknown designer has some clothes/perfume that they think look good and could sell, she approaches various movie stars, singers, rappers, actors, etc., and ask them if they would be willing to put their name to this unknown label and promote it as if it was their own. She says some stars sign on the dotted line (as long as the money is good) without even seeing the clothes.

Well, that’s life. Jennifer just needs to retreat for a long while and focus on raising her babies. Her hype is all fizzled out.
I’ve always said this about her and others like her who have nasty, STANK attitudes! God don’t like ugly and your mess will catch up with you. She is so siddity and it’s such a turn off to a lot of people! I’ve never been a J-Lo fan. To me she should have stuck to dancing or acting. Her singing is a total and compelte joke but Puffy gave her the confidence to make her records. She sounds like a cat screeching in a cat fight!
She is way out of order for selling poorly made clothes for all that money! That’s just bogus, you don’t do crap like that – as if the common consumer can’t tell the difference between quality and crap! Give me a break. But that just shows you the attitude she has. She thinks she’s so above the average Joe’s of the world.
