I work for a chemical company. Glassware has to be triple rinsed with water and acetone and boxed for disposal. The boxes have to be taped – top and bottom. AND, we have to use boxes made especially for glassware disposal.

Someone got hurt 2 yrs ago in my group. We had a Group Stand Down – which is a meeting where we discussed what happened, what went wrong, what we learned. Then we had a Departmental Stand Down and then a SITE Stand Down. All for the SAME incident. And I wasn’t allowd back in the lab for a month. And I WASN’T THE ONE WHO GOT HURT!
