OTHER websites such as THIS one and OMG….have said that he is dead at 50.

Bossip, I think this is an all-time low for you (and others) to quickly say that this man has died. How much do you care about reporting this kind of news with any seriousness? You can post all day long about Bey, Rhianna, and the like, but PLEASE, PLEASE dont lie about someone’s death.

He was the only star I ever wanted to meet since I was a kid and the only star who could have made me star struck because of his talent. Only God knows the real price he paid living his life to entertain others with his amazing talent. No one will ever compare to him or achieve the recognition he received – even before the internet. OMG this is so depressing and sad. I’m so sad about this, he was an incredible musician, all controversy aside, he was a fabulous entertainer, and these new folks do everything they can to imitate him.
AWWW, I feel terrible for his kids cause I lost my dad at a young age (he was 52), so I know this is going to be so hard for them and the family.

This hits too close to home to me. I am a true 80’s baby, and there was no way to avoid being a fan of either MJ, Madonna or Prince. I fell into the MJ fanbase. I was the one who had to have everything MJ, from my school folders, backpack and lunchbox to every scrap of paper with his picture on it. My childhood was spent with friends listening to Thriller, Bad and later on Dangerous, and watching his groundbreaking videos and dance moves.

I might not hang around in this thread because I already see where this is going, but besides his mistakes, his stretching of some truths, and legal problems, MJ was such a big part of my growing up, I can’t do anything but give him the respect he deserves for decades of great music that will live on forever.

Regardless of Mike’s personal life, he is an American icon. His talent will never be duplicated. My heart aches as I watch old clips of him and his brothers on Ed Sullivan Show or Carol Burnett. As a little girl, I remember watching them, and I was completely enthralled. I even remember looking forward to Saturday mornings for the Jackson 5 cartoon. I’m so happy that I still have all of his albums in my collection.

I also want to send condolences to the families and friends of Ed Mcmahon and Farrah Fawcett. I’ve only watched a few episodes of Charlie’s Angels but I enjoyed them and I enjoyed Farrah’s performance in The Burning Bed. Ed was a cool, likable uncle/grandfather type to me and I best remember him from hosting Star Search. Michael’s death is getting huge headlines but Farrah also p*****ed away today and I see her getting a few lines across the bottom of the screen and I saw no mention of Ed today. All of their families are in my prayers.

Hey, before the scandal, everyone loved MJ. I am no different. I never have nor will I ever deny the man’s talents. I remember in Kindergarten we had a teacher who was big into dance and she made us do Michael Jackson dances for our graduation. I was just going to post my condolences and move on, but providing there are so many posts on here, my scroll bar stopped on the way down and i got a glimpse of this…

WOOOW!!!! Everyone on this planet has issues! We’re not praising him as the 2nd coming of Christ, but many of us and our families grew up on his music. Talking to my mom, she said it felt like she lost a distant cousin, one who she was soo close to as a child but they went their separate ways as an adult, and I felt her on that. MJ and the Jackson 5 has gone waaaay back in the music industry, being a pop icon for our moms and dads, us, and even some of our children.

Please remember that WE are not the final judgment. The bible says to forgive. Michael Jackson was a GREAT man who has done wonderful things for our community, the music industry, the WORLD. From opening our eyes to racism (Black/White), to 3rd world poverty. This man DESERVES this recognition and more. So please, YOU get a grip.

i was facinated with him as little girl. i remember seeing his face on my mother’s album cover of the jackson 5. i’ve followed him in his career as a solo artist. i was obsessed with him in the eighty’s. but it wasn’t until these last few years, that i realized what he has meant to the black community, singers, rappers, and dancers. how he made corporate america recognize our people a viable commodity or how he revolutionized dance without any training, just talent. his music touched everyone of all colors and creed. some of the hardest dudes i know sang his songs with no shame. today, my heart is full. i am going to miss “THE KING OF POP” and i know i’m alone.

Paul McCartney never forgave him for it, either…But Paul had no one to blame but himself, due to listening to Yoko, who advised him that they could buy their library for cheaper, thus giving Michael the opportunity to sweep in and buy the whole publishing company that owned the Beatles catalog. I don’t feel too sorry for Paul, though, he owns Little Richard’s and Buddy Holly’s + a host of other muscians music publishing rights.

You and me both. My head is splitting right now because I’ve been crying since I heard the news. I actually thought his life was back on the upswing, and he was going on tour again. I never expected this. Never.

I remember being a kid when Thriller came out, and the video was all people could talk about. There was a do*****entary around that time about his reach overseas, and the throngs of people he attracted were unreal. People actually fainted when they caught a glimpse of him.

I don’t think we’ll have that type of magic again. Something is now gone.

My heart aches right now…..

This man was my first crush, I kissed his poster with him in the yellow vest daily and stayed up late at night just to record his videos on Friday Night Videos.

Even when he was accused of being a child molester, I felt bad for him and what his life had become after he had probably been abused.

The countless plastic surgery made him unrecognizable, no longer the handsome brotha I once crushed on and I again felt bad just watching his life eerily unfold…not knowing or fully understanding how things got that bad.

I pray that he is now at peace. I pray for his family and the loss they are feeling right now. It seems as though he was an enigma to not just his fans, but even those who knew him best seeing that not many knew he was this ill. What’s also sad is how the media constantly labeled him a freak when he would walk around with masks when in actuality he was a very sick man and probably wore them for a reason. Now, the media can’t get enough of talking fondly about him…go figure.

God rest your soul Michael Jackson…you will never be forgotten.

We all have that one person in our lives or families that we don’t quit understand or get…but we love them just the same. No matter what they choose to do in their lives we support them regardless because we know that there struggles, road, steps are not our own and until we walk in another mans shoes we can only judge ourselves. Michael grew up with us and may of us grew up with him…you don’t have to know a person personally to feel a connection to them. His musical influence has captivated people world wide. Michael was that eccentric black brother, uncle, cousin, friend that at times we just didn’t get or understand. Never the less we love him for who he is his talent, smile, dance moves, meek nature, ability to remain strong under pressure. Michael will truly be missed many people who tried to gain off of exploiting him and judging his childlike nature will see that they were wrong for doing so. I was a little girl when his hair caught fire from the Pepsi commercial. I remember so clear being scared and crying for Michael. I also vividly remember Michael doing the moon walk for the first time on the Motown 25 awards show. It was the best thing I had ever witnessed on television. My heart is heavy and there aren’t enough tears to bring him back but he still lives on. RIP Michael and thank you for sharing your talent with the world.

R.I.P. Mike! I was a fan of his earlier work, and have to admit even after the surgeries, I really loved “Remember the Time”, and “Smooth Criminal”. Anything after that I didn’t stay up on it, and didn’t purchase it. I didn’t always agree with many of his choices, but I have always respected his amazing talent, and the legacy he built. Mike made music videos mini movies, and African-American artists more marketable to corporations. Many of the large endorsement deals singers have today are as a result of Mike.

I lived in Los Angeles during the exciting “Thriller” days. I was sooooo crazed that I drove to the Jackson family compound, Hayvenhurst, in Encino, with my two daughters, hoping to get a glimpse of The King. We did not see him, but we did see Joseph and Marlon leaving in a blue Bentley. I was also living in Los Angeles when his hair was burned in the Pepsi commercial. I let my 11-year-old daughter call the hospital to see if he was okay. When the hospital operator answered, she immediately said, “Is this about Michael Jackson?” My daughter said, “Yes, how is he?” The operator said, “He’s fine and resting comfortably.” After moving back to New York City, I had the pleasure of attending a Michael Jackson concert in Madison Square Garden. My fantasy was to dance with Michael. I cannot BELIEVE he has p*****ed away. I have cried my eyes out tonight.

I will be 37 next week, and I don’t remember my lifetime without Michael Jackson within it.

I am praying for his entire family, especially his mother Katherine and his three children. His father and his siblings have to be SO DEVASTATED.

I’ve had two losses myself, so I know it is NEVER easy. It’s horrible whether the death is sudden or from a prolonged illness.

I don’t know what the Jacksons’ level of spirituality at this time. I know Jermaine mentioned ‘Allah’ in his statement.

Nevertheless, I pray that the Lord will comfort and strengthen them in the hours, days, weeks, months, and even years ahead.

As a child I just KNEW he was singing to me and only me. At 44 years of age myself – I’m at a loss of words. All day – all night – and even now, I’ve been listening to his music. Now, it all sounds even better than before.

And as I also grew up watching the Orignal Charlies Angel’s I’d like to think that Farrah waited for Michael and they both moon walked up to heaven hand-in-hand. That might sound corney to some of you, but I’d like to think that they entered the kingdom of heaven together.

Mike was one of the best to ever do it. He made music that made a difference in the world. Granted you can’t just love someone because they were good at their craft but Mike used his craft to feed starving nations and shed light on injustice and poverty. That’s the difference between him and today’s artists. He will be missed.
Ok so for all you negative people. Have some respect. Mike may not have been a boy scout in his personal life but he did make a difference in others. People make mistakes and I surely am not excusing what may or may not have happened. I just know my place in this world and it is not to judge him. There is a higher power that will judge everyone so your personal opinion is irrelevant in this case. That’s goes for everyone puttin him in Heaven too. God only protects fools and children. Actually, that doesn’t sound corny at all — it’s a very nice, comforting image. There has been a lot of loss this week.

I remember watching the Jackson Five cartoon on Saturday mornings, too, and I listened to my Jackson Five greatest hits CD just last week and smiled to the lyrics of “ABC” and “I’ll Be There.” There was an ethereal quality to Michael, and his voice was inimitable. No matter how much I heard songs such as “Human Nature,” “Lady in My Life,” “I Can’t Help It,” and so many more, they moved me just as much as the first time I heard them. That is the definition of timeliness. That is the gift Michael gave to the world. I will be able to share his music with my children and grandchildren.

Hi Diva, that’s actually a great *****ogy. It’s like hearing about someone you lost touch with over the years, but you never stopped loving, and the memories have all come sweeping back. And you realize how much you’ve lost. Like many others, MJ was my first crush. I still have my doll with the one glitter glove buried somewhere in my parents’ house and other paraphernalia.

You’re right — he did make mini-movies. I LOVED his videos. Remember when MTV used to have those world premieres of videos? I remember watching “Black or White” and “Remember the Time” (still one of my favorite videos of all time). I loved “Smooth Criminal” — the c*****ography was out of this world. The move where the male dancers leaned forward in that seamless motion entranced me.

I loved Michael Jackson’s music and the videos were always on point, always. This man devoted his entire life to people trying to provide us with music and entertainment that should have touched us all more than it did. I have been looking at and listening to a lot of his art. There were always messages to them and most of them were to bring people together “Change” Man in the mirrorr. Wow…so many memories. Staying up late to watch Friday Night Videos to see the Thriller video, The We are the World video, getting a birthday cake with Mike’s face on it in and a Thriller Viewmaster with audio in 1984, attending the Bad tour in ‘88. I was just dancing to PYT at a club last Friday. His talent and eclectrifying performances were unparalleled and I will fondly remember his contributions to entertainment.

WoW. R.I.P Michael Jackson. The man, the myth, the legend is gone and will never be replaced. You’ve left us with a lot of lackluster artists to supply “music”, but, I’m thankful for your years of amazing contribution to the soundtrack of life.

I do not know if the crimes you were charged with are true. I was not there, so I will not judge. Only God can do that.

I will always hold “Pretty Young Thang” and “Do You Remember the Time” as two of my favorite songs of all time. Thanks for the memories. Condolences to the Jackson Family.

I think his home ‘Neverland’ should become a shrine like Graceland is for Elvis.As Michael tried to re-live his childhood at this home. This was over shadowed by people trying to get money out of him.He was alone at times and no one to guide him, no one he could really trust and to open up to,he was a daddy,and now his kids will grow up without a dad.We the public need to think how we would feel if this was us.We need to show his childern their dad was admired by the gift he had and he shared with the world,by bringing Neverland to life we could fullfill Michaels dreams again also help finantualy as he gave so much to charites.
