UNC On Lockdown After Cops Respond To Armed Person

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is on lcokdown after cops respond to an armed person on campus according Independent UK reports:

Police at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are investigating a report of an “armed and dangerous person” near the college campus. Reports said police had surrounded the armory of the military cadet training centre.

Emergency: The University has activated the sirens. Police report an ARMED AND DANGEROUS PERSON ON OR NEAR CAMPUS.

There is police activity outside the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps building on the campus, near the intersection of South and McCauley streets, sirens were blaring and Chapel Hill and students, staff and faculty were being told to stay inside, WRAL reported.

Campus-wide lockdown in effect. Instructions directing people to safety.

“At least a dozen police cars responding, with guns drawn, at the #UNC ROTC,” one witness reported on Twitter
