Delaware Cop Walks After Video Shows Him Breaking Jaw Of Suspect

Even though the department is saying “this is outside our guidelines,” a DELAWARE jury found a dirty cop not guilty of assault?:

A police officer from Delaware has been acquitted of assault on Tuesday. Officer Thomas Webster stood accused of a felony assault charge for kicking a suspect in the head while responding to a large fight. The 42-year-old officer testified he did not intend to kick Lateef Dickerson in the head during the August 2013 encounter. The forceful strike broke Dickerson’s jaw. The jury also declined to convict Webster on the lesser charge of misdemeanor assault. Jurors deliberated for about 16 hours over three days before acquitting the Dover policeman. An internal police investigation found, however, that Webster’s actions were outside departmental policy. Dickerson, who has a lengthy criminal history and is awaiting trial on unrelated charges involving stolen guns, was charged with resisting arrest after fleeing from the officer at the fight scene. That charge was later dropped.
