Drunk Driver Tries To Hide From Police In Nativity Scene

A suspected slizzard driver tried to flee the police by hiding in a nativity scene reports Telegraph UK reports:

The motorist sought refuge among hay bales and the baby Jesus after the car he was driving crashed into a metal barrier in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire.

He attempted to hide from officers in a large shed, which was housing a nativity, around 200 metres from the site of the Mini Cooper smash on the A659.

However, North Yorkshire Police said they located the suspect and arrested him as they posted a picture of the crash on Twitter.

Meanwhile, this year’s advert from the Department of Transport’s Think! campaign targets people who think it is okay to drive after a couple of alcoholic drinks, after research showed that that one in 10 people would consider getting behind the wheel after having two drinks or more.

The research also showed that the proportion increased to one in five among men aged 18 to 34.

Liz Brooker, Road Safety GB spokeswoman, said: “The combined efforts to tackle those who choose to drink and drive have been successful over the years.

“But some people still think of a drink-driver as someone who drinks copious amounts and gets in the car.

“They don’t realise that they could be a drink driver too, by having a small amount to drink and taking to the road.”

Baby Jesus take the wheel!
