Star’s New Flick “50 Shades Of Black” Hits Theaters Jan. 29

Marlon Wayans has kept us in stitches over the years with a flurry of parody films like “Don’t Be A Menace,” “Scary Movie” and “A Haunted House.”

But BOSSIP can reveal that Wayans’ latest movie, “50 Shades Of Black” – a hilarious take on the “50 Shades Of Grey” franchise – may be his last.

“I think this might be my last parody for a while,” he told us. “I think in some weird capacity – I don’t want to say I’m maturing. I’m forever 19 – but I want to evolve a little bit.”

The “White Chicks” star plays the title role of “Mr. Black,” a kinky rich guy who seduces a student reporter. “50 Shades Of Grey” might not be everyone’s first choice for a spoof movie, but Wayans said he finds the funny in the most unlikely of places.

“For me I thought, what if Christian Grey was black, he was rich, and we didn’t know how he got his money,” Wayans said. “From that, we could take it anywhere. It’s a funny movie. It’s a feel good movie. It doesn’t go too far, but it does far enough.”

Wayans, who also co-wrote the movie, said parodies could be difficult to make because the writer has to fold in pop culture references without it appearing forced, while keeping the laughs coming.

Nevertheless, the actor said he got a kick out of filming and hoped fans like it too.

“I want them to feel good enough that when they get home they try some of the things out that they saw in the movie,” Wayans said. “What I like about this one is it gives me the chance to play the romantic lead. He has a dark sense about him, he’s grounded and it goes to a crazy place.”
