This is why I consider most music out there as rap as opposed to hip hop. You got two rappers (neither one is hip hop to me) on stage at an awards show talking about I want to F$% every girl in the world and they got what appears to be pre-teens dancing with them.

Their performance of ‘Every Girl’ was a huge disappointment.

That song is garbage, the only thing good about it is the beat.

Its just so ironic that BET as a network when showing movies and such block out the basic words of “azz”, “hell” and “heck” but had the nerve of putting that performance at the awards.

I think they should have just left it with Drake’s performance of “Best I ever had” and let that be the end of it.

The sad thing is that at least two of the girls mothers were there. One was Tiny’s daughter and the other is Lil Wayne’s daughter. Her mom Toya was there at the awards too promoting her new “show”.

They are too busy trying to be relevant themselves to rear their kids. That’s just sad.

I was thoroughly disgusted when they performed that song and I saw women in the audience singing the lyrics like it was a good song. It’s degrading women, people.

BET messed up when they didn’t stick to the plan and went off track to try to honor MJ. If it would have been a planned event rather than a spur of the moment one then maybe the show would have been better. I liked MJ’s music and do think that they should honor him, but they could have done that by making the BET awards this year the best that it could have been rather than something so sad that most viewers would have felt the need to turn the channel like many did. It was completely unorganized and all over the damn place. Everyone dressed like MJ and all this crap, I don’t know, I just was not feeling it at all. Let him rest in peace all ready, half the people that call themselves loving him dogged him out and talked about him his whole life anyway. This performance was disgusting. At one point Drake puts his arm around one of the girls which made it even more creepy and uncomfortable. The whole perfomance made me sick. Half the words were bleeped out and because alot of people putting Wayne on an undeserved pedestal, he was really feeling himself up there and not giving a performance, just sitting and cooning most of the time. I thought the whole BET awards show was a huge disgrace and embarr*****ment. 1st of all that was the worst tribute they could have given to a man that was a GIFT to us. The show was quite pitiful. When the song came on, I was like are they really going to let him sing that? You could tell the audience was stunned.

NOW, this brings us to another topic…..I don’t know much about Soulja Boy besides he had everyone in Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Indian, etc America(you too,okay- and me -trying to figure out his dance. Intially it was refreshing. Kids were dancing and moving instead of sitting in front of the X-Box. Then everyone started going hard at him. A nineteen year old. Making music for kids (kissing me through the phone, and that one he performed…Hop out of my bed, get my swag on…). I like his message better. And he is not supposed to make music for me, he is a kid and I am 30 plus grown. I remember the rap I wrote when I was 12/13 and now I think of it, it was corny as hell! So Soulja Boy’s rhymes are corny to me, but they weren’t meant for me and I am glad the kids have their own music and I have my grown folks music. I’d rather Soulja Boy (with his pants pulled up) instead of Lil Wayne any day.

According to my source, what happened was Wayne’s daughter Reginae, 9, was upset that she didn’t get the chance to accompany her father, Lil Wayne, to the stage to accept his award because she was sitting too far back in the audience.

Once backstage, the youngster began to cry. And Wayne, who they say is a great dad, hated to see his little girl cry. So he told Reginae she could come out onstage during his performance with Drake. Despite what he was accused of, he was an influential African American in my humble opinion and BET needs to learn how to show Afro-Americans in a more positive light. Where the heck else will we earn respect if we don’t get it from our own people? It really disappoints me to hear this. BET is pure trash and I have no respect for that network. I’ve written several complaints to them about it too and as a result, I’ve boycotted that network and if anyone else agrees, you should boycott it too.

I thought the whole BET awards show was a huge disgrace and embarr*****ment. 1st of all that was the worst tribute they could have given to a man that was a GIFT to us. It was so sad to see that most of the artist couldn’t get out of their own way to honor someone who made most of their careers possible. Everyone was just trying to promote theirselves. The whole show looked thrown together & unorganized. Beyonce…. HOT BUTTERED MESS!!!! I definitely thought that Lil Wayne having those young women on stage was completely OUTRAGEOUS! I agree that the performance was not appropriate at all, but the award would’ve still been awful and offensive to the legacy of MJ without it.
