The man arrested for bringing two guns to Disneyland Paris said he packed the weapons to protect himself.

The unidentified 28-year-old European told police he brought the pair of low-caliber handguns to the next-door New York Hotel Thursday because he “feared for his safety,” AFP reported.

Cops did not elaborate on the man’s comments.

While the gun incident does not seem to be rooted in terrorism, police are still looking for the man’s girlfriend: Police detained a female suspect Thursday, but later admitted they nabbed the wrong woman.

The man’s bag tipped security alarms when it went through the Disney-owned hotel’s X-ray machine Thursday, park officials said. Guards found the weapons, plus a box of ammo and a Koran in the suitcase, and immediately called cops.

Smh. Guns and a Koran at Disneyland after what the folks in Paris just went through a few months ago? Wow.
