As a big-chested woman, the whole time I kept watching the video, I felt that the girls needed to put bras on. It kept bothering me the entire time!!! No wonder they lost the game, the needed to put some bras on!!! Some sport bras nonetheless! And the uniforms didn’t help either!!! Yes, he was supposed to come out with the King of all videos. He is a new artist and doesn’t have much room for error. Once he starts to get noticed and has been in the business for a while, then he’ll have room to f$$$ up. But right now, he can’t afford to make these mistakes!!! This video was a HUGE A$$ mistake!!! I don’t see the gender appeal (other than men), I don’t see the cultural appeal, and there is no display of Drake’s talent. It’s a fail all accross the board. Cool Fuel, the media and other hip hop entertainers have been saying that Drake is the new coming. For me and others, he is just typical of rappers nowadays. For some Drake fans (which I am not), it maybe a bit of a disappointment because they honestly believed Drake to be different.
As for the message of the video, it basically reinforces the whole light skin vs. dark skin slave mentality. Some young black female fans who do not fit Drake and Kanye’s ideal of beauty. If you look past the T&A you will see the message of the video. What Kanye and Drake were trying to convey was that you could look the best and have all the money, but that doesn’t make you the best because you lose at things that really matter in life if that’s all you’re focused on. At the end of the video he was unhappy because none of those girls are “the best” because all they’re good for is looking good. And the punchlines were hilarious! This video is perfect.
Um… I watched it twice… ‘Drake, all you ever taught us to do was stretch!’ Then, they lose… I mean, I can sort of get what they were getting at, but unfortunately, we don’t live in a world where all females have father growing up in their households… in other words, the video (I still will never like the dumb @ss song which really lacked affection… but maybe the girls of this gen are that shallow.
