(two can play that game for the trifling baby mother’s out there).
there is also safe exchange, for the ones who get fought, and get the police called when they are just trying to see their kids.

I have a friend who is engaged and her fiance’ JUST found out that he as a 5 year old daughter in another state (he literally found out like 2 months ago).

The baby’s mama was an old friend of his and she never told him she was pregnant. When he questioned her about why, she told him that at the time, she didn’t need him because one of her other children’s fathers (she has 5 kids by 5 different men) was taking care of them. Since he (one of the other fathers) found out the child he thought was his isn’t, he stopped giving her money, so now she needs him (my friend’s fiance) to step up to the plate to help out financially.

Had a lot of trouble staying together b/c of that and she ended up getting pregnant behind all the sneaking. He had a college scholarship for b-ball out of state and was leaving after graduation. She was scared he would go to college and find a new love and forget about them since they were already having a hard time being together. She burned herself with an iron and told the police he did it. He was arrested and lost his scholarship. She joined the military and left b/c everyone in our small town wanted to kill her. He is a manager at smoothie king now. SMH

Funny thing is I kept getting that feeling from him over the past few weeks…the actual feeling that he was going to randomly ask me for a huge favor. I guess it’s partly because he kept randomly talking about his living situtation – he actually lives in the apt comlex next to me. “Ah, man! I’m gonna have to sell my dog. Does he still want you? If so, this could be her motivation. If she has a job and she does not need your assistance, she is doing it just to “try you.” Some women will do that just to mess with your money if you have wronged them in the past. A few comments: As an attorney, receipts are better than nothing. Even if the court construes the receipts as a gift, the fact remains that you “gave” the child’s mother SOMETHING in the way of support and that goes a long way with the court system.

Two, I am happily married (for five years) to a man that I only dated for six weeks. Our marriage works because despite the short period of time, we have a great foundation. During that six-week period, we did not sleep together and focused on getting to know one another (hours-long conversations every day – whew!). Believe it or not, I knew this man better in six weeks than I have known men that I dated for years. The communication was on point, our views of important things (like family, money, child-rearing, work ethic, etc.) were practically similar, and most of all: this man treated me the way that I always wanted to be treated and we were both ready to settle down. Would I recommend getting married so quickly? No, every situation is unique. But at the same time, we shouldn’t fool ourselves: knowing someone is not so much about the quantity of time that you spend with them, but the quality of that time. What are you doing? Are you really getting to know how this other person works? Or are you “kickin it” (do people still say that? LOL) and not really talking about things that matter (no offense to anyone)?

Finally (and back on topic), my husband and I do not have any children, but he does in fact have a child with a woman that unfortunately, seeks to make our lives miserable. She would not let their daughter attend our wedding, will not let her visit because she fears that I am trying to take her place, and will not permit my husband to talk to his daughter for weeks at a time. It hurts me to see my husband in pain when he is unable to see or speak to his daughter (he actually shed tears one day). It hurts me that I am unable to form a meaningful relationship with his beautiful little girl. We are currently in the family court system now trying to resolve the issue. I apologize i took your comment the wrong way, i actually have my sons this school year, to allow to her further her education in the field she’s in, we both know the importance of having both parents in their lives b/c both of us are products of single parent households, we my not live together she sees them every weekend, and when they were with her i talked to them everyday, pick them up every other weekend, had them for spring break christmas and summer vacations, so we try to keep it as normal as possible.

You are correct BUT a woman controls the act pure and simple. If you INSIST on the man wearing a condom and he doesn’t oblige, then the female has the ultimate power to say “well get the hell on then!”

That’s the point…some women will ALLOW a man to hit unprotected knowing that the man is no good, can’t or won’t provide, is a thug, is going nowhere, etc. Yes, birth control is available to both sexes BUT women control whether or not anything will be going down and therefore, we control the standard. It is a lack of standards on the part of BOTH sexes that is the problem.

I wouldn’t even think of taking him to court, when it’s clear where his heart is.

This is a very tricky topic. Women can be aweful at times but more times than not the man is not being a man. A lot of times I just can’t understand how some people could find it plausible to even have a child. They know they are not together, they know they are a jumpoff but they think ohhh I got his baby now we can be together. It is unfortunate that so many black women grow up with out loving environments so the thought of having a little person who would love you unconditionally seems like a great idea. I also for the life of me am unable to understand how anyone without even the minimal high school education can find it plausible to bring life into the world. What type of employment can you really hold down without even a marginal education. There is a lot of physchological issues too that are never addressed. A horrible home life leads to all types of bad decisions. It is so funny that we have this whole topic about “baby mamma’s” For all the men who have issues withthe mother’s of your children. Have you ever thought of raising your child on your own? What if women flipped it and left you with the children and bounced. And you had to hunt her down and she never responded. I wonder why they always talk about “single mothers” in the tone they do but never address “single fathers” because there is no epidemic when it comes to them. Women take the brunt of it all yet we have the nerve to be here discussing the issues of Baby mommas and their drama. If you don’t like the drama from your Baby Mama how about you volunteer to raise your children on YOUR OWN!
