Jermaine Jackson Interview On Michael Jackson: “I Wish It Was Me!”

Jermaine Jackson was on the today show and said some intriguing things about his brother Michael passing away:
Jermaine Jackson says he would like to see Neverland Ranch as his brother Michael’s final resting place. In an interview broadcast Thursday on NBC’s “Today” show, Jermaine Jackson also said he wishes he had died instead of his younger brother, and that Michael was “a gift from Allah.” “He went too soon. I don’t know how people are going to take this, but I wish it was me,” Jermaine Jackson said.
When asked why he felt that way, Jermaine Jackson said he always felt that he was Michael’s “backbone.” “I wanted to be there for him. I was there and he was sort of like molded. Things he couldn’t say, I would say them. During the trials, during everything …” Jermaine Jackson said that when he rushed to UCLA Medical Center last Thursday, where the 50-year-old pop singer was pronounced dead, “I wanted to see Michael, and I wanted to see my brother, and see him there lifeless and breathless was very emotional for me, but I held myself together, because I know he’s very much alive.” “His spirit is, and that was just a shell, but I kissed him on his forehead and I hugged him, and I touched him and I said, `Michael, I’ll never leave you. You’ll never leave me.’” On Wednesday, Jackson family spokesman Ken Sunshine said a public memorial was in the works but it wouldn’t be held at Neverland. A person familiar with the situation told the AP that permits for a burial at the sprawling Santa Barbara, Calif., estate could not be arranged in time. The person was not authorized to speak for the family and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Jackson said Neverland was Michael’s home. “He created this. Why wouldn’t he be here? I feel his presence.”

when i lost my mom in o7, it was a similar paradox.
she was the 3rd youngest and 1st to go. trajucally at that, suffering for a year fighting brain cancer. so i understand exactly where jermaine is when he expresses holding him, kissing him and touching him. the tears will always fall.
his family is in my prayers.

Michael wasn’t crazy, he was the product of a mentally, physically abusive, and money hungy father who never took his children’s psychological well being into consideration..Michael changing his face and his skin wasn’t directly about him not wanting to be black but more about him feeling ugly..If your own daddy tells you that you’re ugly and big nose on a regular, you believe it and feel it after a while..If a man that damn gorgeous and popular could feel ugly that should tell you that he had major issues..All he ever wanted was his father’s approval and love and he never got it..Joe (piece of *****) Jackson has never publically apologized to Michael or even took the blame for abusing him, all he cares about is how big of a icon his son was..Joe destroyed Michael’s self esteem and ruined his chance for a happy normal life..Even in death that *****hole shows no sympathy for Michael..I feel sooo sorry for Michael, God rest his soul.

On top of that he wrote and put out a song about Michael in which he stated “You changed your skin.” When asked about the song Jermaine said he did it to get Michael to talk to him. Saw the interview this morning and that part had me in tears. I lost a sister 7 months ago and could absolutely relate!!

No one is PERFECT including Michael – who had a lot of problems of his own, both mentally and physically. Of course this doesn’t take away from his musical genuis but it also doesn’t excuse his bahavior. Michael was HEADSTRONG and caught up in his own celebrity. Katherine Jackson is the only one of the clan who came to the trial every day. According to a lawsuit filed against Jackson by Marc Schaffel, Katherine, after appearing in a rebuttal video, asked Michael for $250,000.
So yes, we should celebrate Michael’s musical genuis but lets not make him so hero to be worshipped – after all he was just a man – who like many of us had problems.

Jermaine Jackson is full of *****! I’m not doubting that he’s not grieving over the loss of his brother, but he and Jermaine were not close. Michael was the closest with Janet and his mother. Jermaine has ALWAYS been jealous of Michael b/c he thought he was the shining star. I grew up watching all of the family drama over the years, and Jermaine was not Michael’s backbone like he claims. Jermaine was always backstabbing Michael.
AND, Jermaine is same nasty SOB that stole his brother Randy’s wife, married her and had kids by her while they all lived in the family compound. So Randy and Jermaine’s kids are brothers/sisters and cousins. Just NASTY!
Jermaine has always been an opportunist, so I take anything he says with a grain of salt.

I believe Jermaine….he and Michael were very close. Watch his Larry King interview in 2003 where he defended Michael to no end. They love each other every family has their moments but you always come back together. I am youngest in my family of 7 children and I can’t image losing one my siblings younger or older…losing a family member is like losing a part of you so that’s why he feels the way he does. And, for them to say they didn’t know he was using drugs (they found his body full of needle marks, not to mention all the pill prescriptions), is a damn lie. Why are ppl saying none of the other Jackson’s are making money. Sure they are not all on MJ or Janet level but they have each done well and live better than the average just based upon royalties alone.. Tito is still producing music on Sony and other labels he is a b***** & elec guitar player (he was never one for the spotlight), Rebbie is under Michael Jackson’s label and has released faith based music and Randy was writing songs for her. Jackie has his own record comp- JESCO- his son is on the label. Marlon is a successful real estate agent and owns part of the Black Family Channel and he wrote “Centipede” for Rebbie. Randy had his own record label and he did a lot of writing for mj and janet until he had a car accident and was paralyzed for several yrs which caused financial hardship. Latoya keep a check coming in off of lil bull***** here and there but she sang back up on plenty of MJ’s records from Off the Wall to Bad. The siblings worked together and still did their own thing. Every Jackson EXCEPT for Janet who went her own way, parti*****ted in and had something to do with MJ’s music at one point or another. MJ signed most of his neices and nephews to his MJJ label including Jermaine’s boys 3T. They all provided vocals for We Are the World and have some financial interest or investment in one anothers work. Janet’s ONLY link to MJ on record is SCREAM and everyone knows how close they were. Michael Jackson, to quote a lyric from one of your songs…I want you to know, “You are not alone.” Not anymore. I believe you are now, the angel in heaven you sought so hard to be here on earth. You were so misunderstood, vilified, and beat upon. There was so much mockery and hatred of you, for only one reason. You’re goodness; your luminosity into the beautiful heart you believed could be in every man. You had such generosity, and tried so hard to teach others, to look into the soul; and to not judge based on color, creed or cl*****.
But darkness, doesn’t like beauty to shine. It detracts so much from what it is trying to do. Create dark humanless souls of us all. To replace the radiance that was born within all of us, by God. You spoke of nothing, but love and peace. Your light through your words, and music shone so bright. You’ve brought so much too so many, but only sought pure love for yourself.
