We hate to give this punk more publicity but it sounds like he needs to have his wig pushed back again. He wants people to be happy he didn’t call Will. i. am a ‘nigger’. Here is a recent discussion with a gay journalist:
But Perez tells me that, in the heat of the moment that night, he almost chose to use a different word. “I thought about calling him the n word,” he says over the phone a week after the incident, “but I thought the f word was even worse. I was so filled with hate at that moment because I was hated on so much, and I reacted in the worst way possible. Then I went on to make a bunch of other mistakes. I shouldn’t have made the video. I shouldn’t have released so many statements. But what’s come out of all of this is that I’ve learned so much about myself, and I’m in a much better place. I’m actually thankful that it happened. As cheesy as it may sound, I had almost a spiritual moment when I just let all of the anger and worry go and am now filled with peace, happiness, and wisdom.

Hmm.. well, maybe everyone here needs a lesson in world history.
Cubans are white. They are of European descent. Unlike other South American nations, the Indian population died, and the entire country was basically settled by rich European mercantalists and low-ranking Spanish *****ility… a little different than the US which was settled by poor British people. By the early 1900’s Cuba already had an aristocracy that rivaled that of Paris and Milan. As such, Cubans have become the only ethnic group that you can pretty much talk ***** about in the media and otherwise, and get away with it. Its sad how much envy and jealousy there is. It just breeds more and more envy. I think you need to treat others the way you want to be treated. The biggest problem with the black community is that equality is constantly preached… but the behavior is not always internalized.

I usually tend to stay away from commenting on your stories and let you do your thing. However, tonight as I was reading your website, I came across this posting and was rather disturbed. I’ve always taken great pride in reading your stories because they were fair and just.
However, this story was not.
I’m ashamed that you would post something with the term “Fat Queer” in the title. By doing so you not only are stooping to his level, but are also creating a hate-filled story for others to read. Could the headline not have read something else? I would think your journalists could have come up with something much more clever, and less hate filled.
Regardless on your writers personal opinions on sexuality, and personal beliefs, their bias opinions should never be integrated into your postings. It seems as though we have taken one step back instead of moving forward.
We as a people are better than that. After enduring years of hate, and racial slurs, we should not bring ourselves to turn it around and use derogatory comments on others.

Speaking as the mother of an afro cuban daughter, her daddy is Cubano, Cubans ARE white.
Case in point. When my was born and we filed her birth certificate, when the registrar asked her father his ethnicity, he said cuban. She checked white for his nationality. He was dumbfounded and her that he was hispanic. She explained to him that he still was cl*****ified as “white.”

I think that the cubans that think they are European descent took cuban history in cuban…lol. Of course it is going to be bias. Cuba was settled by Spain. Yes, part of Europe, but by Spain just like every other latin country and mexico. Also, cuban history try their best to discredit their african heritage but look at their food, dance and music it is based off of african and spanish food, dance and music. As a matter of fact most cultures music and dance is have some african influence especially spanish dance, flamenco and others. This is because the Moors had such a strong influence on culture back in the day.

While Cuba IS predominately Black (or those of African descent) there are WHITE Cubans. And they will DISTINGUSIH themselves as white if you were to go to Cuba and ask them their identity. I know not all Hispanics are racists. I was just saying that they, along with every other group can harbor racists feeling towards blacks. If you look at Cuba, the black cubans aren’t treated as equals to the white cubans. Many Puerto Ricans have African ancestry but very few will admit to it. In California, the hispanic gangs frequently target blacks for violence. Like I said, not all, but there are most definitely some.

Furthermore, I don’t tell ppl what they can and can’t say. I can only establish guidelines for myself as for as terms that are off limits. It’s a free country…use whatever terminology that you like but that doesn’t mean the person your popping off to is going to think it’s funny or shrug it off.
