Minister Louis Farrakhan responded to Obama being forced to denounce him in the last presidential debate:

“Those who have been supporting Sen. Barack Obama should not allow what was said during the Feb. 26 presidential debate to lessen their support for his campaign. This is simply mischief making intended to hurt Mr. Obama politically.” “A black man with a white mother became a savior to us,” (referring to Fard Muhammad) Farrakhan said Sunday. “A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.”

That was suspect how they asked Obama about the endorsement in the first place. Discuss.

Of course they were going to ask Obama about Farrahkans endorsement. But Farrahkan is smart enough to know that Obama had to “denounce” and “reject” him. If he didn’t they would hold it against him. I think Obama handled the question well.

In order for Obama to win; Farrakhan will have to remain silent in his support for Obama. Farrakhan’s political, spiritual, and social stance/affiliation will only hurt O’s chance at a seat in the White House. They are both smart enough to know this……hopefully.

Good point about the black people that took out Malcolm. The best part of this campaign is that all of the uncle toms are coming out, the older black people in the 60′s are showing how comfortable they have become and how scared they are to lose power… OBAMA is breaking down barriers believe it or not…he will be the most famous American in this century… as a black woman who loves her history…. I am learning to see people for what they believe not just color, smart people can be from any background, and ignorance does not discriminate… I would have never guessed Hilary was like this, or some of these black politicians.. people know the truth, sadly it will be the open minded white people who will get us in the white house , I see to many minorities trying to fall for the Ok. doke….and yes some white people are racist, but the majority are willing to take a change on Obama even more ready than immigrants from Asia or Latin AMerica?

    how weird?

  • monie911

also people need to leave superhead alone, i think she did change, or at least she is honest, so many fake people out there pretend to be good, at least she is the truth, and also who are we to say a person cannot hope or want to change their lives…the real hoes were the guys she was messing around with!!! no one talks about that !

  • eastside216

I’ma Black Man and I used to want to vote for Hillary b/c of Bill BUT she has been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO shady as of late that I’ve changed my vote for Obama. Even Hillary came after Obama for his comment on Farrakhan. They (McCain and Clinton) are using scare tactics on white people so they can try to change their votes. We aint go even talk about the pic of Obama with his head wrapped. I’ve watched couple of McCain speeches and he calls Obama by his middle name which is Hussein. I think he is intentionally doing this to invoke Americans recent discent of Islam and anything associated with it. If you vote for anybody other than Obama then you are part of the reason American will never change. How does a “multi-cultural” nation only elect White males to represent them for the past 200+ years? Every Black Man that has expressed interest in the presidency has be looked at as a joke until now. OBAMA 08. All those civil rights workers who dis Obama are hypocrits.

Oh it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…

    YES!

    We have finally got it!

It’s called Strategy and Wisdom and Presidential Candidate Obama and Elder Farrakhan have it. Oh, this certainly is a new day!

No more reactionary wearing our heart on our sleeve and throwing tantrums over racism. And white folks can’t stand it.

We all knew the truth about the racist intent of question Obama on Mr. Farrakhan’s endorsement and we all knew the strategy / wisdom behind Obama’s answer.

Don’t tell me this brother is not the answer. As his wife said, “I have a secret. I am married to the answer”. Oh, yes she is and Yes We Can!

    OBAMA 2008!

    YES WE CAN!

  • DaPro

I was @ Saviour’s Day in Chicago when the brother Min. Farrakhan spoke of Obama. He never once said vote 4 Obama, he simply said pray 4 him and his family through his journey 2 the White House.

4 those of u commenting on how Farrakhan should shut the f#%$ up, take a look in the mirror and ask yourselves “What sacrifices have I made” “What have a done 4 my people” before you make asinine statements. Even if you don’t agree with the brother, don’t fall into the game the mass media plays with our people..

Farrakhan knows that the “believers or Islam” were unsure of Obama because of some comments he made.

I’m in Chicago so I know first hand the how they try to play our brothers against one another. Obama being a member of Trinity church and Min. Farrakhan as the leader of “Nation of Islam”

Lets all get on the same page and recognize the power of this movement without throwing anyone under the bus!

“Even if you don’t agree with the brother, don’t fall into the game the mass media plays with our people..”

Well said!! Like I said before, I was glad to see that Farrakhan didn’t fall for that “turn-em against each other ploy.” Min. Farrakhan took the high road and I know it’s eating them up inside that he didn’t denounce Obama for repudiating his ‘endorsement’.

  • Kdollaz

They mentioned something about this on globalgrind. These people sure are riding Obama. I’m telling you he would be facing so many things that the normal president will not. Mainly in the Black community.

    Clinton Pressed on Supporters Words

JANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A day after lecturing her presidential rival for not rejecting a controversial minister’s support, Hillary Rodham Clinton declined Wednesday to reject one of her Texas backers who commented on Barack Obama’s race.

During a series of satellite television interviews, Clinton was questioned by Dallas station KTVT about comments by Adelfa Callejo, a local activist who supports Clinton candidacy. The interviewer quoted Callejo as saying “Obama’s problem is he happens to be black” and asked Clinton to respond.

“Well obviously I want all of us judged on our merits,” Clinton said. “I believe strongly that the fact we have an African American and a woman running for the Democratic nomination is historical and I’m very, very proud of that.”

“I want people though to look beyond, look beyond race and gender, look at our records, look at what we stand for, look at what we’ve done and I think that’s what most voters are looking for,” she said.

The interviewer asked Clinton whether she rejected or denounced Callejo’s comment.

“People have every reason to express their opinions, I just don’t agree with that,” she said, adding “You know, this is a free country. People get to express their opinions.”

During a nationally televised debate Tuesday in Cleveland, Clinton criticized Obama for refusing to reject an endorsement from National of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan, who has made numerous anti-Semitic comments. Obama said he had been clear in his denunciations of Farrakhan’s comments. Clinton suggested that was not enough.

Asked in the interview about her debate comments, Clinton said: “I don’t see any comparison at all with what you’re referring to and I don’t know the facts of what you’re telling me over the TV. So I’m just going to repeat that I want people to judge us on the merits.”

Later, aide Doug Hattaway said Clinton was taken aback by the question.

“She had never heard of this before,” Hattaway said. “If it was actually said, of course she denounces and rejects that kind of politics in any way, shape or form.”

    Is that Superhead? WTF?

  • Just Sit And Be Pretty

Tim Russert was doing what the media is known for, sensationalizing an issue. Also, I think we were all getting a bit tired of the same ole, same ole questions and he decided to ask some tough questions that had not been addressed in a debate. I do think he pushed the Farrakhan issue a bit too hard, and damn if Hillary didn’t have to jump in there and try to compare the stance she took again an inflammatory group…like she took some sort of moral high ground. Anyhoo, Farrakhan isn’t stupid and even after Barack “rejected and denounced” him…I knew Farrakhan would get it…because he understands the game. Trust me, I doubt Barack burned any bridges because of what he was almost publicly forced to do.

  • White Devil

If David Duke or some other white supremacist supported a candidate, would that be relevant to you.

  • brandon

its amazing the support you have for brother Obama, I love the light he casts as an intelligent and very likable african-american male. but this site is offense and blind at times of their support of him. Your disrespect of Tavis and the minister F. are uncalled for! Mr. Obama should have been at the Black State of the Union. If He doesn’t stand for us now what hope do we have if he is President! I’m not ignorant to the fact that he must be multi-cultured at this point in his campaign but the bottom line is that if he wont stand now he wont stand later! And for those that believe he did nothing wrong please justify it! And as far as the minister goes If he can be forced to denounce a man of color like himself for no other reason than his affiliation with the nation of islam and his fear that that he’ll once again be considered a muslim and have his presidential race numbers hurt than he’s a coward! look past the minister, he’s just a man. but he speaks for thousands of positive men of the faith that create positive change in their community and he alienated them and for what? so he wouldn’t give the “shady” slave master Clinton new ammunition! It’s shameful! educate our people, don’t dumb down our people! politics are not black and white! Give our people some credit and Expect and Demand more from the man that may run our country and in term represent US! All I ask is that he stop his political ass kissing and this site stop acting like everyone that says something negative about Mr. Obama is a traitor! If he does that I’ll proudly cast my vote for him when the time comes. I’ll do it with pride!

  • http://www.flairjewels.com Life19

You guys act like slaves. Why can’t the Minister say that he likes Obama? Is he the only person that can’t express how he feels about Obama, everybody else does. Plus I want a man who doesn’t care what the powers that be will say about if he agreed with Farrakhan or NOT. Stand up for what you believe in. If he doesn’t care for Farrakhan say it, if he does then don’t be scared to express yourself just because you want to be the President.

    @ K-dogg:

Thank you K-dogg, always on point. May I trouble you to ask of you is Austin any different than Dallas in terms of Mexican racism? Was considering a family vacation in Austin, but we’ll pass if Austin is the same hot bed of Mexican hate. Thank you for any insight you can give.

Let me correct Bratlary on her pioneering woman blah blah blah:

Barack Obama is African-American Man and his candidacy is pioneering in terms of his race and in terms of his racialized-gender. Black men are marginalized not just for their race but for their racialized-gender as well.

Bratlary’s candidacy is not pioneering because she is racially and gender privileged as rich white women with rich white ex-president husbands are not marginalized.

Bratlary needs to really quit the pioneering talk and putting her struggle in the same catagory as Obama.

Especially since Bratlary is not a “victim” of but is actually a part of the oppressive establishment and machine actively trying to marginalize Obama because of his race and racialized-gender.

Sure a woman president is pioneering, but Bratlary is no example of such feat.

    Obama 2008!

    Yes We Can!

  • KDogg

If David Duke or some other white supremacist supported a candidate, would that be relevant to you.

    ——————————————————————————————————

Who cares who David Duke supports? There are white supremacists in both parties. There are racist blacks, asian, and hispanics in both parties as well. Obama can’t control whether or not someone likes him or wants to vote for him.

I’m not a fan of Farrakhan. He is not honorable or a minister in my book. However, this whole thing is less about Farrakhan than it is an attempt to play into the fear of white America…Especially, when it comes to their fears and ignorance on different religions, cultures, names, clothing and languages. That’s why Republicans insist on calling him Barak “Hussein” Obama. That’s why the picture with Barak in traditional Kenyan clothing was made into a big deal. That’s why people are concerned about Barak’s pastor.

Clinton tried to play off of those same fears. She could care less if Barak rejected and denounced Farrakhan. She just wanted the names Obama and Farrakhan to be in the same sentence as many times as possible.

  • Japmoe

How exactly does attending the “State of the Black Union” prove that someone is standing up for black people?

    The last time I looked:

    Unemployment

    The Economy

    Healthcare reform

    Troop withdrawal

    NAFTA reform

Reliance on Foreign Oil(High Gas Prices)

    Immigration

    Civil rights

    Education

    Social Security

were all “Black” issues as well. Barack has plans to address all of those and many more. He can best affect those things from the office of the President of the United States than as some guest at the “State of the Black Union.”

You can’t assume that because he didn’t attend the Black State of the Union he’s not going to be supportive of Black issues. Tavis Smiley is my frat brother and I have nuff support for him, but I was definitely one of the ones calling on him to ease up on the Obama criticism.

It’s all about being able to pick your battles and looking at the bigger picture. And the only reason they asked Obama to denounce Min. Farrakhan was to try to cause a divide…but you see that even Min. Farrakhan knew the game and he didn’t fall for it. THE BIGGER PICTURE!

there are three stages of human development. The first stage is called the animalistic stage of development. But when we submit to animal passions, then we can do evil things to one another in that animalistic stage of development. But when moral consciousness comes and we have a self-accusing spirit, it is then that we become human beings. Right now, we have the potential for humanity, but we have not reached that potential, because we are functioning on the animalistic plane of existence.

  • wow!

I can really appreciate Farrakans attitude in the situation. We all know Hillary is and then some are all up to no good. she would want to worry about her affiliates copping campaing money for her illegally. No attention to that story. She may need Jesus to endorse her when this is all over. I am so glad the minister didn’t give the media something to bounce off of and drag out. That’s real men and real support.

  • PCD

i am glad farrakhan could see thru the shenanigans. it was so ridiculously obvious that the media was taking an easy shot at portraying obama as a divisive figure just as hillary is, ESPECIALLY because he is black and a black leader has joined the ranks of his supporters. and altho he has made some pretty off-beat comments before, farrakahn obviously understands the ruse of political smoke….there isn’t always a fire. he just gained some intelligence points in my book.

  • KDogg

I may have shared this before…

My 6 year-old son is in the 1st grade. Earlier last year, and even in Kindergarten his class learned about the Presidents of the United States. A couple of weeks ago, his class started learning to count money. He became curious on why and who was on each coin or bill. I explained that they were all former presidents.

One day while I was watching CNN after one of the debates, my son asked me about the lady that was speaking. I explained to him that it was Hillary Clinton and that she was running for President. At that time the reports cut to a segment on Obama. My son asked me who Obama was. I explained to him that “he” also was running for President. I never thought to discuss this with him before and it apparently touched something in him because he then looked at me with a light in his eyes and asked me…

“When I get older, can I be president?

I almost fell on the floor.

All of this time that he has been learning about Presidents, he never asked me about becoming one. It was as if a new realm of possibilities had been revealed to him.

My son even told me that he wanted to change his vote to Obama. Apparently, his whole class voted for Hillary in some type of class election. The teacher convinced all of them that she was the best candidate. That’s why he recognized her face on the television. He had seen it before in class. However, he never saw Obama until that day. Shame on me.

As many times as he has seen Bush on television my son never mentioned anything about wanting to be President. I never even thought about how all he has seen were 40-something white faces as President. He probably thought that that was a requirement.

  • Flirty Fawn

I watched a little of the Black State of the Union and if Obama would have attended there probably would have been an uproar. He would have had to reply to Dick Gregory’s comment he made calling the white man “cracker”.

I overstand the Barack supporting the black community comments but you have 2 overstand a few things

Obama was raised by a white mother and white grandmother..He has the unique ability to reach all people because of his diverse background…

He can’t fully be on one side until he gets his foot in the white house. All of this is form nothing if he doesn’t make it 2 capitol hill. We need him 2 make it, we can’t condemn brothers 4 supporting Obama just as we can’t throw stones @ Tavis 4 getting pissed. Tavis has done alot 4 the black community he wants Obama 2 state his “blackness” 2 the world but Obama can’t be Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, or Al Sharpton. We need another perspective someone who reach out 2 the world 2 re-establish the socio-economical oppression that we face globally. Remember he is the face of the country!!

  • White Devil

Since a lot of you think that he is hiding his true self in order to get elected, what do you think Obama can accomplish as president when he comes out as a black nationalist. The government cannot solve your problems, no matter who is president. You will still have to do that yourself.

  • brandon

some of you r truly enlightened, some of you not so much! No one, at least I’m not asking Mr. Obama to show up in Harlem wearing FUBU or go down to New Orleans with gold fronts and a F FEMA t-shirt to solidify his blackness. nor am i asking at all that he prove his blackness! i have eyes i can see he is a man of color. What i’m asking him to do is stand for us. not neglect or alienate any other race or faith. Just make it clear for once in his run for president that he sees us specifially and individually! there are parents here i’m sure with multiple kids and you love them all the same, at least i hope. but you know as a parent you have to single one out at times, whether it be for praise or correction! that singling out is vital so that that child knows that he or she is loved specifically and individually no matter their siblings or the situation. thats what i’m asking for from mr. obama for the black communtiy. and if ya’ll can’t see that keep waiting for the picture. i promise you it wont turn out the way you hope! I’ll leave you with this k-dogg and the rest. what good is a best friend that wont won’t even show up to your house when he’s invited, be a character reference on loan application, or call you after the party cuz as he explained he cant be seen with at the party for fear of what others might say? in the end what’s more important, the history of the first black president or the legacy he’ll leave behind? our destiny is sometimes judged by the route we take to get there!

Obama is not lost on the subject of race-If you look @ his wife she is 1 of the most “real” sistas I’ve seen. She offered 2 sit on the panel @ the Black State of the Union, Tavis said no.

We must see this “monumental” change 4 what it is, a new face can sit in the White House. If Obama does not accept the fact that he must acknowledge the plight of the black community fine, his run alone has awaken a mass of young black men and women that realize their dreams can be fulfilled. This can be the change that allows us to return 2 our tru form as Kings and Queens as God intended!!

  • lovely and amazing

    @ Truself

    You are the truth.

Thank you for summing up the self-hate epidemic in black and communities of color.

Kobe, whose black ass would be under the jail had it not been for black people praying and advocating for his dumb ass. Russell Simmons who made his fortune with white partners exploiting and off the backs of desperate inner city youth. Reggie Bush, a fool. Qunicy Jones, would never be caught dead supporting a black man with a black wife, bottom line. NAACP-National Association for CertainColored People, you called it. Tavis, aww, he’s hurt because Obama didn’t kiss his ring WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS?!! Remind he is a news anchor and a talk show host first for the most exploitative and hateful BET and now the machine.

Not vote for Obama because he’s black?!! when everyone of these men have made their fortune exploiting their blackness and cultural capital. Not one of those fools has a success independent of their black race!!

We can go on all day, but the truth is this reality of black on black hate hurts. Slavery is not in the pastm, it’s effects are lasting and heartbreaking.

    OBAMA 2008!

    YES WE CAN!

See, we have settled for substitute leaders for so long that these fools resent their false pedestal being exposed.

I am tired of everyone making this election into an ethnic or gender race. Vote for Obama if you feel he can do a good job at running the county and not his skin color. That’s just stupidity, if he were white it would not even be a huge matter, but b/c he has darl skin he is savior of all the black people. Farrakhan is only endorsing him b/c he is black. I am sick and tired of this nonsense and all thie pro black sites screaming vot obama, he talks a great game, but check his voting record to what he promises it doesnt add up, he missed out on 40% of votes. He has not taken a stand on anything or led me to believe that he will, check out a candidate before you scream out he or she will do anything. If white people just voted for white people b/c they are white we would have a problem and it doesn’t mean that that person is the best for the job. Can I say George Bush, but b/c e was white they support him and look where we are at.

  • PIMP DADDY

There are a million and one questions that Obama is not being asked.

Someone needs to ask him about this country’s history on human and civil rights, other country’s perception of it, and what he indtends to do to improve the conditions and the image.

It’s one thing to not be a part of the group that has been oppressed. You can almost expect them to do limited things in that regard. But when you have a leader who is part of the suspect class who runs a campaign and pushes the issues of civil and human rights on the back burner because it it politically expedient, I submit to you that no world leader will sincerely respect that person.

  • NATION OF FALSE ISLAM

    Nation of Islam

The followers of the Nation of Islam believe in (all quotes taken from their homepage or their publications):

…one God (Allah) and that Allah (God) appeared in the Person of Master W. Fard Muhammad, July, 1930; the long awaited ‘Messiah’ of the Christians and the ‘Mahdi’ of the Muslims…

However, the Qur’ân states in chapter 4, verse 36, “Serve Allah, and join not Any partners with Him; … “. And according to a Hadith narrated by Masruq, in Sahih Bukhari, ‘Ayesha said, “If anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen his Lord, he is a liar, for Allaah says (in 6:103), ‘No vision can grasp Him.’…”.

The followers of the Nation Of Islam further believe “in the resurrection of the dead–not in physical resurrection–but in mental resurrection. We also believe that the so-called Negroes are most in need of mental resurrection; therefore, they will be resurrected first.” But the Qur`an states in chapter 20, verse 55, “From the earth did We Create you, and into it Shall We return you, and from it shall We bring you out once again.” Even more pointedly, the Qur’an also states in 64:7,

The Unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for Judgement). Say: “Yea, by my Lord, Ye shall surely be Raised up: then shall ye Be told (the truth) of All that ye did. And that is easy for Allah.”

Besides the above two differences, the followers of the Nation of Islam also believe in other things contrary to Islam as defined in the Qur’an and Sunnah, such as:

[We, the Black Muslims, believe] “in the truth of the Bible, but we believe that it has been tampered with and must be reinterpreted so that mankind will not be snared by the falsehoods that have been added to it”.

The problem with this belief: The true Prophet of Islam ordered Muslims to neither accept the Bible nor reject it – certainly there was no mention of reinterpretation.

“That we who declare ourselves to be righteous Muslims, should not participate in wars which take the lives of humans. We do not believe this nation should force us to take part in such wars, for we have nothing to gain from it unless America agrees to give us the necessary territory wherein we may have something to fight for”.

The problem with this belief: The Qur’an and Sunnah are crystal clear on the necessity of going to war when the situation demands it.

I’m a little confused about Minister Farrakhan comment. How can a white woman have a black child? Wouldn’t Obama be biracial. I think people sometimes people forget that. The reason Obama is being accepted is because he is biracial and not all black. People know it’s true but do not want to admitted. Obama made a comment that Black parents should stop feeding their children Popeye’s chicken, If a white person made that comment black people would lose. Look how people treated Bill Cosby. Obama continues to make negative statements against Black folks and white people along with Black people eat it up. He doesn’t make negative comments about any other group. The comments about Black people have nothing to do with policy making but it sure makes white people feel good.

Do you study the Qur’an? If you do you will not be fooled by the master of deception, Louis Farrakhan. In the Qur’an you will find a profile of Farrakhan-like characters spread all over the Book. For example look up verses 2:8-20 (quoted above); the picture painted here is that of Farrakhan. He thinks that he can deceive Allah and the believers but Allah will only increase his disease. When he is asked to believe as Muslims believe, he thinks of them as fools because he does not prescribe to any religion. His talk of the Qur’an, the Bible and religions are his tools of deception – a smoke screen. He deceives only ignorant gullible people and himself. He is a miscreant but thinks of himself a reformer, like all atheists and agnostics do: on one side he tries to please Muslims and on the other side he tries to please their enemies and he tries to make each of the two groups believe that he is with them! In 1975 he made a pledge to support Warith Deen Muhammad and he was on the way to become true Muslim but his treachery overcame his wisdom and he became an eternal loser. When he left Warith Deen he traded misguidance in place of guidance; he traded hell in place of paradise, in which he does not believe anyway. Since he studies the Qur’an, even though with evil intentions to find ways to fool people, once in a while he does find a spark of light of guidance. However, such light does not help him and he is thrown back in to his blind wanderings (see the Qur’an 2:17-20). Just listen to his speech about darkness in the video I mentioned above – this is one of the lost blind man’s wanderings. He is surely not guided by Allah but by Shaytaan.

As I have mentioned above, in Saudi Arabia in 1985 and again in 1990 he pronounced the Shahadah multiple times – sometimes in front of great ‘ulama, as if he was accepting true Islam. It was all fraud to collect Saudi funds. He had taken Shahadah in 1975 with Warith Deen and he pronounces Shahadah whenever he stands in front of audiences to give a speech. After every Shahadah he turns away from Islam and goes back to his paganism, lies and deception. As the proverb goes, you can deceive some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but never all of the people all of the time. He does not learn from this saying either. I believe that Allah has made a decision about him when he said about such characters and announced it in the Qur’an: “Surely (as for) those who believe, then disbelieve and then (again) believe, then disbelieve, then increase in disbelief, Allah will not forgive them nor guide them in the (right) path. Announce to the hypocrites that they shall have a painful punishment.” 4:137-138.

“Surely those who disbelieve after their (profession of) belief, and afterward grow violent in disbelief: their repentance will not be accepted. And such are those who are astray.” 3:90.
