Having an education doesn’t guarantee happiness either. It obviously is a good thing and helps in life, but nothing is guaranteed. Like others have said, give back. Volunteer, mentor, start an organization, anything.

Bow Wow, Omarion, Chris Brown, Day 26, all these little guys need to go to college! Spend a few years and get a degree and then come back out in the industry after about 4 or 5 years. It will really help their careers and they can learn more about the industry. The money and fame and the industry itself will be there.

I see lots of younger Black female celebs in school or go to school and finish and get their degrees. Tatanya Ali, the Mowry twins, Brandy, Keisha Knight Pullman, I mean there are quite a few.

I think the younger brothers would see this and maybe this will inspire them to finish school and pursue higher education. We got way too many brothers out here without their degrees…SMH.

It’s the inevitable bump in the road that all child stars hit as they try to “cross over” and be taken seriously as adults. Bow has his work cut out for him…sorry to hear about anybody who thinks they don’t have anything to live for. IMO, suicide is the most selfish and narcissistic thing one can do, so I hope he moves beyond that and seeks professional help to find his self worth.

There’s nothing sad about where Bow Wow/Shad Moss has arrived. His “problem” if you want to call it that, is not an unusual one, it’s a place where people who have lived out dreams, struggled too hard, or think they’ve seen everything arrive. He’s waking up so to speak and that’s a good thing. Anyone who reaches this point has the opportunity to grow from it or suc*****b to it. Whatever brings you to this place will be something you will eventually be thankful for whether good or bad. What he needs is something new (not a new Lambo or watch, but a new way of looking at things, a new direction). My advice is use this moment in life to take an introspective look at things, deconstruct the world around you, ask questions of substance, like “How did we get here” “what are we doing here” and “Who am I”. You may not find all the answers but it will be a learning experience searching for them, and along the way engage in discourse with people, surround yourself with people who are condusive to who or where you want to be. Don’t be around people or situations you don’t like, it doesn’t even make sense to do that. Don’t be overly concerned of how people view you during this phase because they don’t know who you really are. Challenge yourself to learn new things, and when you have learned these things share them…Here are some of the movies and books that have helped me in my experience : Movies – The count of monte cristo, Dark city, The truman show, the matrix, What the Bleep down the rabbit hole (Part 2). Books – Allegory of the cave (frm plato’s republic), Happiness Hypothosis, the purpose driven life. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8.

Everyone needs something constructive to do with their lives, it just makes you feel more fulfilled. Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates with all their money, can do, whatever they want, buy any toy they want, but they both work on a daily at something they have a p*****ion for, Oprah has her TV show, her South African school for girls and she also has her satellite radio station, along with other charities and social functions that give back to the community. Bill works on the improvement of his microsoft company plus he is involved in numerous charities and giving back to the community as well. Neither one of these people have to work another day in their lives, I mean they could have stopped working years ago and just party party, but the work that they do is not just beneficial to others, but fulfilling to themselves as well. It’s therapeutic, and a way of holding on to their sanity.
