Two Chicago Men Are Free After Wrongfully Imprisoned 20 Years Ago

Two Chicago men are free after spending twenty years in jail for a crime they did not commit. According to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, charges were dropped against 42-year old Ronald Kitchen and 50-year old Marvin Reeves. After a re-investigation of the case it was determined that there was a lack of credible evidence to keep the men in jail. Ronald Kitchen was in disbelief of his freedom. Continue…

praise God… I wish there was a fool-proof way to convict criminals. It’s so hard for me to get behind the justice system when it is clearly flawed and broken….

That is ashame…and the story says that the guy that put him in jail actually is on trial for wrongfully tortuting people !! I hope he gets whats coming to him.

Kitchen and Reeves were convicted of killing two women and three children in 1988. Kitchen was sentenced to death and Reeves was sentenced to five life terms. Reeves was tortured into giving a confession by former crooked police detective, John Burge and crew. Burge is notorious for beating more than 200 suspects into forced confessions from 1972 to 1991. The detective beat Reeves in the head with a telephone, punching him in the face and kicking him in the groin. Burge is awaiting trial on lying about torturing suspects; he has more than 20 cases of torture under investigation

Don’t tell me they took these two (as law abiding citizens) and dragged them out of their homes or jobs and charged them…..

i’ll be honest…ain’t no jobs out here for a nig thats been locked up for the last 20 years. thanks but i’ll take a rain check, let me out when the economy is good and jobs are a dime a dozen! until then, give me my 3 a days (meals), commissary and nig “i’ll trade u 2 boiled eggs for your peanut butter” if you been locked up, u know what im talkin about!
i was locked up and the first day a nig asked me for my leftovers…i said sure you can have it, he started eating it with MY fork!!! Nigs in jail go hard, they dont care…imagine their stories after a 20 piece!

20 years lost, how will they be repaid? money don’t fix the misery this two brothers gone through.

In NY State, if you are wrongfully imprisoned for a stretch, they will either give you a settlement or take away a felony…. It costs about 125.00 a day to house an inmate, so if in Illinois they do this same procedure, it would add up to a huge sum for these brothers…. Hope that happens for them…..

What kind of legal system is that? . To say that they did something so they were justified in being imprisoned for 20 years.
What about the fact that it has been proven by statistical data that cops are one of the most abusive towards their spouses of any profession.
Should we judge all cops in the fashion that you judge these black men just because cops are more *****e to beating their wives than other professions?
What are we claiming as a democratic society? We are the ones who claim to have the best justice system in the world?
Why be a sore loser when it is proven that we are not living up to our claims.
If people thought like you we would have never had child labor laws established.
Before unions thousands of factories opted to hire children to work because they could get in smaller places and they could pay them dirt cheap labor.
I guess it was okay with you that thousands of kids had hands cut off and dismembered and abused for years until this flaw in the system was exposed .
You need to really rethink this notion of just being right at all cost mentality.
You need to think what are the consequences if I am right.
Every action has unintended consequences.
