If you would take 1/2 a minute to check and research before you decide to contribute to blatant distortion of the truth you would have seen the video that explicitly shows that the President was NOT sizing up the young lady but rather checking his footing and trying to show us ignorant folks how to be respectful and dignified in public. I just watched a segment about it on CNN — The Justice Department is reviewing the incident. One of the young campers was interviewed, and the little boy’s voice was cracking with emotion. I’m livid that these children experienced such humiliation and outright racism in 2009.
I don’t know if you ever saw the HBO movie years ago with Halle as Dorothy Dandridge, but it depicted a dehumanizing incident she experienced when she performed at a hotel in Vegas, I believe, and the hotel drained the entire swimming pool to keep her from entering. Older generations recall this sort of discrimination well. It’s appalling that these children in Pa. were publicly demeaned and were forced to watch people exit the pool and make offensive remarks.
