Mr. Sean John is serious about this acting thing:
“I’m out here [in Hollywood] looking for houses now. I’m going to officially be bi coastal. I feel like in order to make movies, you gotta be where they are being made.”
“This (A Raisin in the Sun) has really set a tone out there in Hollywood that I could draw, that I could bring people to the box office and put people in seats as I make this transition. It’s one of my proudest artistic moments because I kept on working hard. I didn’t give up.”
He actually did do a good job on this project. Kudos to him.

I liked Raisin in the Sun. He did an alright job. I didn’t realize how ugly he was until I saw the movie. DAYUM… Again, he is an okay actor but I highly doubt that he will be a box office draw. You reaching a little too far with that one!

I missed his performance but I heard mostly good reviews for his acting. Some how I’m still NOT convinced.
Puff stick to the music mang. I guess that’s why on Making The Band he gave all three groups–Danity Kane, Day 26–How corny? I guess he miss 112 “room 112″–& Donnie 5 weeks to record their albums. I did like a few tracks I heard Day 26 sing on but the project still seemed rushed and now we know why. smh
This dude is SOO about self.. Kinda can’t blame him tho.

eh, watching him in Raisin in the Sun was painful. He was bad and it really showed since he was working with REAL actors. Damnit Puff! Stick to making clothes and wack music. Leave the acting to the professionals! Jeffery Wright woulda tore that part up!

I could not watch the whole thing but it was beter than his performance in Monsters Ball. Some people really are just born with the talent for Sean-P-Puffy-Diddy-Daddy-Combs it’s just not there yet.

While Puff’s acting isn’t horrible, he’s not a big enough draw to make me pay $12 for a frickin’ movie ticket.
Don’t fool yourself Puff, you’re no Denzel Washington. The reason so many people watched ARITS is: 1)It was on basic cable (all you really needed to see it was an antenna). 2)The other actors in the movie. 3) Oprah’s name was attached to it.

no, did you guys watch the same Raisin in the Sun as i did, cause your boy SUCKED – he made it a PRUNE IN THE MOON — the ENTIRE CAST [including that little irritating kid] CARRIED HIS AZZ .. my eyes just kept zoning in on his mouth, teeth, to be specific .. but THEY, not him, killed their acting skills, and again, THEY not him, made that movie watchable! he needs to stay his corny ***** right there near juniors cheesecakes, we don’t want him here!

I’m all for Diddy acting if he is serious about it. Bossip may have been impressed by his performance in A Raisin in the Sun, but his acting was subpar at best. I’d like him to get some acting lessons so that he can really carry a movie. I won’t go see a movie just because he is in it if his acting skills don’t improve.

Ummm….Bossip…get ya facts straight cause we all know that Puffy Executive Produced “A Raisin in the Sun” and essentially bought himself a role.
He train-wrecked “Raisin in the Sun” with his flat acting skills. He was as convincing as a Superhead playing a nun. Puff cannot act, he does’nt have any direct eye contact, no intensity, no p*****ion, and his range is as short as my pinky. What a disservice to Mr. Sidney Poitier. SMH. Some cl*****ics need to be left the ***** alone.
Puff I respect the hell out of your business swagger; but even you have limitations. Dammitt…stick to fashion and music. You can purchase you way into acting talent; you either have it or you don’t.
There were plenty of actors who could’ve given that role the respect and dignity it deserved:

I wasn’t feeling him in that remake. Maybe it is because Sid Poitier is such a great actor that anyone else would look foolish attempting to recreate that role… like someone trying to redo a Whitney Houston cl*****ic… or maybe it is cuz Diddy can’t act. Just a thought. Either way, I prefert the original. The remake was a bit of a waste.

I didn’t even watch “A Raisin in the Sun” because the trailers with Puffy in them looked horrible. Most viewers said he was awful. It’s only some folks in the media, bossip et al, who are writing he was pretty good, which makes me question what movie y’all were watching.

Raisin in the Sun was a TV movie. It has nothing to do with draw or pull. While I’m sure Diddy has more than enough money to produce a film-if he were to star in said film it would get absolutely 0 distribution.

Bossip, did you guys just say that Puffy did a good job on “A Raisin in the Sun”? Did we watch the same movie? Everybody else was great! Sanaa was on point as usual and Phylicia Rashad nailed it. I think Puffy might have tried to fill some shoes that were entirely too big on this one. Danny Glover’s portrayal was a home run and we don’t even need to talk about the original. Puffy just couldn’t hang in that role.
