That’s funny b/c I just was listening to “Paid the Cost to be the Boss” this morning. I love Snoop and the way he incorporates 70′s funk music into his songs. Even though he’s been in the game for over 15 years, he doesn’t try too hard to be trendy. (songs about the club;snap music etc.) He really doesn’t need Dre at this point…..

What Snoop is REALLY tryna say is that he doesn’t need to further dilute his profit by having to pay a top notch producer when he can basically produce his own or use someone that’s not as expensive.

He may not need dre but he need somebody!! All those tracks that everyone love so much was not Snoop alone! It was either Pharell or Dre who keeps him poppin, he can not do that alone

If you solely listen to the songs on the radio to “get” Snoop, you won’t. The songs that are relaeased don’t do his albums justice. I think Dre is a genius, but being an artist means you explore and right now they are both doing their own thing.

He may not need Dre for a hit song but an album, Maybe. I love snoop. He will always be my boy. However, I can honestly say that he hasn’t made an album that I can bang at least 7 songs from since his first album. Him and Dre have a chemisty that he just can’t get from anywhere else. He’s more so known as a producer not a damn rapper. Although his “Detox” album never dropped he still stayed above ground by producing tracks for other people. If he’s just “A chapter in Hip Hop history” then he’s a pretty relevant one.
