Destiny’s Child Mastermind Wants To Remind Kelly Rowland: “She’s The Student And I’m The Master”

Mathew Knowles has challenged his protégé Kelly Rowland to a battle of the girl groups.

Beyonce’s dad told BOSSIP that he wants to pit his new girl group, Blushhh Music, against the winners of Rowland’s girl group search show, “Chasing Destiny,” and let the crowd decide who is more talented.

“I’m probably the only person who really gets this whole girl group thing down,” Knowles said. “There have been a lot of attempts at it, and a lot of failures.”

Rowland teamed up with Destiny’s Child choreographer Frank Gatson to find the next iconic girl group for the BET reality show “Chasing Destiny,” which premiered Tuesday night.

But Knowles said Blushhh Music – made up of of singer Tali and rappers Sunnie and Bunni Ray – was a combination of Destiny’s Child, TLC and MC Lyte and would be tough to beat.

“I’m proud of Kelly, she’s been in the group since she was 12 years old,” Knowles told us. “And Frank has been a choreographer that I picked years ago from Day one of Destiny’s Child. But I always laugh because we’re shopping a reality show also for Blushhh music. I’m really excited for Kelly, but she’s got to always remember, she’s the student and I’m the master.”

Knowles added: “Whatever group she comes up with, I want to challenge her right now. Let’s meet in LA or NY, let’s build fanfare and lets go at it. Let’s let the audiences decide which of the two are the best. Her group or mine.”
