Doctors Speak Out About MJ’s Knifed-Up Tendencies

Dr. Wallace Goodstein, who worked alongside Michael Jackson’s plastic surgeon, sheds some light on Michael Jackson’s numerous rhinoplasties, etc. and dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein (Paris and Prince’s biological father) discusses skin issues…
“He had multiple surgeries,” says Dr. Wallace Goodstein, who worked beside Jackson’s surgeon in the 1990s. “He came in approximately every two months. It was about 10 to 12 surgeries in two years, while I was there.” As for the specifics, says Goodstein, Jackson “had multiple nose jobs, cheek implants and he had a cleft put in his chin. He had eyelid surgery … You name it he had it.” Goodstein also opines that Jackson underwent operations that he never should have: “He had so many things that were inappropriate.” Eventually, the surgeries took a toll on his face. “His nose became so small because he was operated on repeatedly,” says the source. “He has barely anything left for a nose.” Jackson eventually turned to dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein for a solution. “I rebuilt it [his nose] … using fillers,” Klein revealed in a July 8 interview with Larry King. “I used hyaluronic acids, and they worked very well. It’s an arduous procedure, because you don’t want to put too much in. And you have to do it exactly, so you can flow the material so it’s perfectly smooth.”
Jackson was pleased with the results, says his dermatologist. “I’m telling you that he was beginning to look like the nose was normal again,” Klein – who recently addressed rumors that he is the biological father of Jackson’s children Prince, 12, and Paris, 11 – said in the TV interview. “And that’s all I wanted, and [to] regain the breathing passages of his nose, because there was a total collapse of the cartilage.” You have one choice where you can use certain drugs and ultraviolet light treatments to try to make the white spots turn dark,” Klein explained. However, Jackson’s vitiligo “became so severe, that the easier way is to use certain creams” – very likely hydroquinone derivatives, say other industry experts – “that will make the dark spots turn light so you can even out the pigments totally.” The treatment resulted in a uniform – albeit pale – skin tone. “That’s ultimately what the decision had to be. He would have to wear heavy, heavy makeup on stage, which would be ridiculous. And he couldn’t really go out in public without looking terribly peculiar.”

I think its really disgusting how people who took his money to create the image that we have of him ALL OF A SUDDEN want to come out and discuss the particulars. The only good thing about this doctor being interviewed is that he can finally put to rest the rumor that MJ DID NOT have a skin disease. My friend and I knew this years ago before it was even made public because we knew the woman who was selling him the makeup to cover it up when his skin first starting changing.
As for the plastic surgeries, MJ stated in one of his last interviews that he started having the nose surgeries to help his voice (it would help him hit those high notes like when he was a kid). I think the Virgo-perfectionist in him kicked in and he just kept going back for more. Regardless, it was his face to change if he so desired. Some of us may not have liked it, but that’s our problem.

I too saw the same interview and on Oprah when he said he was proud to be black. AND even this Dr. Klein told Larry King last week that Michael was not trying to be white and was proud to be black. I actually am quite interested in hearing more of the specifics about how this was allowed to happen not just to his beautiful face but his whole body.
Most of us exhibit some sort of addictive behavior that is often triggered by anxiety causers. MJ was pretty descriptive about his abusive father, and the taunting of his loved brothers, and a p*****ive mother who clearly allowed certain things to transpire during his youth that left him a scarred man. If he had that disease I understand the skin bleaching, but too bad he couldn’t try to reverse it and make his skin black again. Don’t understand the thing with the children & not wanting to have his own kids like most men do, but that’s his thing. All the fame & money he had, he really died alone. That is so sad, but his music is the bomb. Lady in my Life can’t be touched. He didn’t appear to be like a normal 50 year old guy, but he was a great musician. I love his music & I really feel sorry for him. To the world he had everything, to Michael, he had nothing. So sad. The movie offers should be coming in. Skin bleaching is a real issue in country’s like Jamaica. I’m sure quite a few people can attest to this fact. People (especially women) use creams, like the Dr. said, and end up with bleached faces and black bodies. It is stunning to see, and very upsetting.
Michael was as is a hugely gifted and giving spirit. period. That is not up for debate.
However these other issues that reflect larger illnesses that so many others struggle with are worthy of discussion.

Actually the doctor said “not to my knowledge” when asked about being Prince’s father. No is a better answer. The oldest boy looks just like the doctor. MJ bleached his skin because he hated his natural appearance. Vitiligo appears in patches of skin which are completely without pigmentation and do not change color through a gradual process. If MJ really had vitiligo and wanted to cover it up by becoming lighter he would have to become white overnight and not gradually over a number of years. He was a musical genius but had serious psychological issuses.
I am so glad that the issue of the vitiligo finally is verified. I knew just by looking at his skin in pictures back then ( just prior to him announcing that he had the comdition in the 90’s) that he had this condition and when it advances, the creams that are used to blend the skin are usually the best solution. I do not know why some folks in the black community would not accept the fact that the man had a skin diease. when I tried to explain the condtion to people they would become real defensive about the subject and swear up and down that he used bleach.At the time that Micheal made that information public it became a topic on our local T.V. news station, they consulted with a dermatologist( I was her patient around that time) and she explained this condition and how it affected Micheal and people still didn’t believe it. It is just so pathetic that our folks have a tendency to focus on the negagtive, especially when some of them are doing the same thing(you know who you are,Ambi has been part of youe daily skincare routine for like…10 years!! and you know full and well that that stuff is only supposed to be used for a short period of time.)Vitiligo is a condition that is hard to treat,and once that pigment is gone from the skin it cannot be replaced. If anyone has the HISTORY CD, there are pictures chronically his life, and if you look at the photos from the Thriller Era you can see the vitilago clear as day. Especially around his face. Can we let this topic go? The man had lupus and vitaligo, so sad that he was ridiculed for something he couldn’t control. and his nose thing, it is well known that his first nose procedure was due to the fact that there was an accident, and the doctors made his nose smaller not the same. Why would MJJ being so sensitive to what haters say, purposely destroy his face? And for the people who were his nurses or whatever spewing out hatred commentary, that’s foul. People need lives. How can anyone look at themselves in the mirror knowing that they destroy other people lives.

A woman who worked for me a while back suffered from the same thing, and endured some of the same nonsense by those who always seem to be waiting and standing by to type or state some kind of negative of false conclusions, calling her a “Sista, tryina’ be a white girl”. In this case 99.99% of those who comment have never personally even met, let alone, knew Michael.
However, the fact these types take the time to make comments, on some level there must be something positive as to why they would use their precious time to make it worthwhile enough to even bother.

I have vitiligo but you do not see me and my facial features morphing into a white person’s. I use a DARK BROWN make up that evens out my skin colouring as i am a proud black person. Virtiligo or not Michael still chose to bleached his skin white.

That’s right. MJ lied his face off when he had to. Vitiligo involves a gradual spread of depigmentated patches of skin – white patches of skin becoming larger in area – and NOT a gradual change from dark brown to light brown and then eventually leading to skin becoming as white as cows milk. Black MJ fans are in denial, he hated to look black but didn’t care what his own community thought because the adulation from whites mattered more to him and they didn’t care if he hated the black skin he was born in.

MJ did have vitiligo. I have vitiligo and know others that have it as well. My vitiligo isnt as severe as many, however, I’ve known people to lose most/ all of their pigmentation.
When you lose so much your pigment that the white patches outweigh your actual pigment, you can make a choice to depigment your skin to have an even skintone.
Believe me I have to wear make up everyday and it is no easy task to cover my white spots. I can only imagine what MJ had to go through having vitiligo in the public eye.

I have to say Dr.Goldstein is really getting his fifteen minutes of fame. I have a few questions What happen to the Hippa laws? If this Dr. Goldstein was there and saw what was happening, which he clearly states he did, then where did the medical statement go, To first due no harm? It would seem if Dr. Goldstein thinks what Jackson and his doctor were doing then why didnt he step up and do something. Why wait till a man dies and then because you can get free advertisement speak up.
