Looks like Miss Humm Breath doesn’t belong to a record label anymore:
R&B singer Brandy Norwood is in search of a new record deal. The 30-year-old singer was just dropped by her label Epic Records because of the lackluster sales of from her comeback CD, ‘Human.’ Released on Dec. 8, 2008, the CD has only sold 196,509 units to date according to SoundScan. “Her friend Brandon Creed that works as an A&R representative at Epic Records has been making calls to see if other labels would be interested in signing her,” a record company source told me. In addition, Brandy has also parted ways with her management. The former ‘Moesha’ star had been represented in recent months by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Management. The McComb, Miss.-bred singer’s relationship with Roc Nation supposedly dissolved because of “creative differences.”

It said that only three female artists are running the music industry! The entire music industry is an EPIC failure. I was so bored Thursday and I watch 106 in Park/other music videos and the same ten videos are shown throughout the day. Rap (sorry songs) and body shakers/half naked women and etc. It is sad that music has gotten to the lowest I’ve ever seen. Brandy has an amazing voice. She and many other true talent artists would never shine. Artist who sings inspirational songs to get you through the day aren’t acceptable in the music industry anymore. I tried to listen to a radio station in ATL and all I heard was Drake,Beyonce,Jay-z,Kanye,Lil Wayne, Keshia,Trey Songz,SOme atlanta new artists,Keri,Ciara,TI,Rihanna,and Young Jezzy Oh! Gucci manne. That is it. If they call this true good music,the music industry is an Epic Failure. WHat about Letoya,Jazmine S,Brandy,Toni B,Guwine, Kelly R,EnVogue,Tamia,,and many more very good artists who aren’t singing songs about money or what they have! It has to get better and we as consumers need to make it better. Without us,there would be no artist,radio station,or videos. We need to request better music and video. We need to request that many different artists get radio play. It is sad that these very few people are dominating the airpay with 11,000 rotation. This is sad and disturbing! That is why the people like Brandy get drop by their labels. We need to support people like this no matter what. I will be buying Letoya cd in August and any other name I haven’t mention that are getting heavy rotation!

I honestly LOVE Brandy’s music, but even if I didn’t I would NOT get any thrill out of putting her down, or even enjoyment from thinking that her career might be in trouble.

I always liked Brandy. I think she messed herself up around the time she had her daughtger. Full Moon was her best album but she got pregnant and the label wouldnt push the album back so it could be properly promoted. Then she did her next album with Timbaland instead of Rodney Jerkins. She aint been able to get back on top since. Her personal life has been a train wreck. she got in the bad accident and got sued. But i continue to buy all her albums and i actually like all of them. She’s just not getting any promotion dollars or something. The singles she does promote aren’t the hot ones on the album either. I hope she figures something out. It would be a shame to lose her talent.

Im truely appauled at the hatred going on over here! Like seriously now, anyone who’s here that can outsing Brandy stand up! Brandy is one of those rare artist(at least now a days) that is actually backed by talent. Epic didnt promote this album one bit. She had two hit singles of the album, but many people didnt even know the album was out. I was shocked to see both RIGHT HERE and Long Distance in the top 5 on 106 and Garbage so Im totally unsure why the album didnt sell. Its by far one of the best releases in the 2008-2009 era. Her being dropped isnt a surprise considering now you have to have a gimmick to sell records and she doesnt she has TALENT its a damn shame that TALENT doesnt get recognized anymore. Guess we should see Chrisette Michele, Jazmine Sullivan, Anthony Hamilton, and India Arie all losing their deals

Its about time for Brandy to move on into other ventures besides singing. I always liked Bossip because they were positive but lately it has taken a Sandra Rose type attitude with nothing good to say about anyone. It is sad that we only feel successful when we tear each other down. It seems like the bloggers are starting to get the swelled heads and feeling like they can say whatever they please without any consequences. I don’t think so. Watch it Bossip like many others, you could lose your fanbase and then what would you be.
I liked her earlier stuff but her time has come and gone honestly music today isn’t really music to be honest. Its all about how you look and frankly Brandy doesn’t look that good at least for people to buy her albums anymore.

I’ve worked in the music industry for quite a while and these days, it is not about talent, its about marketability. This is why there are a few untalented singers on the market. A label can take the most untalented singer and make them a star if they have the right look. This gets old after a while, (no hit JLO albums and Ciara is having a hard time too) and real talent is eventually needed. The industry uses you up and throws you away. Talent does not die though, Brandy will be back. People are getting tired of studio sounds and autotunes, they want their moneys worth. People like to say that singers have run their course but we forget about vets like Tina Turner and Aretha. Their fans will follow them where ever they go. Look at Lionel Richie, he stills can feel a stadium and he does.
She has a nice voice but everyone has their time and life goes on.It’s no failure on her part and she’s young so her career is far from over.
this business changes so much,one minute you are in the next minute you are out,Jlo,Mariah,Whitney,Janet,etc all had their time,alot of these new artist today have very little staying power

She will be fine her mother has worked hard to secure her future and Brandy is not known for spending out of control. She had a bump in the road and we all have had some of those. I would love to see her TV even though I am not buying music anymore.
It’s hard to sell music these days especially to those who have other responsibilities. The radio stations play the songs so much that you get tired of hearing it before you even made a purchase. A song would have to capture all of my emotions for me to buy it. I look forward to her next project. Brandy is not the first woman and won’t be the last to lie about being married. She was probably trying to maintain her image for the sake of her Moesha fan base. Her true fans will be there for her. If she wants to come back she may need to call in some favors from: Whitney Houston, some hot rappers, and one song needs to talk about her lying about being married.
