My grandmother and sister are buried there. It makes me sick to my stomach that some money-hungry fools may have dug them up to resell their plot.

It’s disgusting. How in heaven’s name can they sleep at night knowing that they have desecrated all of those graves.

It’s even worse than you can possibly imagine. They even (EVEN) dug up Emmitt Till and moved his body. They found his coffin behind the cemetary and his body was nowhere to be found.

That kind of thing hurts you all the way to your soul. Knowing that your loved one can’t even rest in peace is devastating.

Karma will swoop in on those four responsible with a force to be reckoned with.

This happened to my grandfather and a close family freinds years ago, and it was a black owned-family cemetery too. Their bodies were piled into one grave and just left like that. That’s sad and those people don’t deserve that…so unfortunate!

Damn…Poor Emmett Tills body was desecrated in life and now runs the risk of being desecrated in death.

This is just sad. it makes you wonder about peoples souls…or lack of.

This is not new. People like lord Canrvin and H.Carter robbed our African tombs of Egypt and claimed them for self. The sad thing is Emmit Till, who as a child, was violated in the worst way to have it done again. I pray that the Lord has no mercy on these people’s souls.

I am so sorry that happened to you… there is nothing I can say to bring you or Songbird comfort, but you two are in my prayers.

I live very close to this cemetary and i think that it is a shame that we our color could even do such a low of all lows act. White peopl already think the worse of us and for these people to disturb the dead is the lowest of all lows. My heart goes out to the family whom loved ones are misplaced, you would think that your loved ones are at peace in their final resting place, and along comes some money hungry dogs and disturb them and not only are they disturbed but are missing whatever their punishment may be they deserve it and more. God Bless these family members and i hope and pray that this could be resolved in a very peaceful and respetable manner.

Emmitt Till’s body wasn’t disrespected like the rest of the unforntunate people victimized at this cemetery. His body was exhumed in ’05 in investigation of new murder charges and because of Illinois state laws couldn’t be reburied using the same casket. It was his casket, which was supposed to be donated to a civil rights museum, that was thrown in a storage shed that was disrespected; to the point that there were oppossums living in there. The sad part about this whole situation is the scope of this crime. What started out as a couple of hundred potential victims has now expanded to an untold number of victims. Almost every black family in Chicago is effected because at one time it was the only cemetery that accepted blacks for burial. I don’t find myself agreeing with a lot of messy Jessie’s sentiments but he hit it on the head when he said there is a special place in hell for these bastards. You gotta be a sick person to do something like this.

I know this is a sad story, and all, but geez, is it possible to step the grammar and spelling level up a bit before posting something?

My family is awaiting answers, and they are saying it can take up to a few months.

it is very sad.. my entire fam was buried there and my mom talked 2 my grandmother 4n days ago and said they couldnt find our fams parts. that was were all my fam from chi was buried crazy. rip fam
