Tre Stylez Added To “Cutting It In The ATL” Cast

On last season of WE TV’s “Cutting It In The ATL” viewers saw a special appearance from Atlanta hairstylist Tre Stylez. This season he’s back full time to cut, snip and throw shade alongside Dedra, Beautii, Maja, Mushiya and LaKenya.

Below Tre dishes on what viewers can expect on the new season.

Tell us about your background.

My name is Tre Stylez, I’m a hairstylist in the industry in Atlanta. I’m one of Atlanta’s premiere hairstylists on the south side, I’ve been doing hair for about 15 years. I started off doing wigs and I’m also a makeup artist; I’ve been doing makeup since I was 13. I’ve always had a passion for hair, it’s always been a passion of mine to make women beautiful.

Tell us about the new season of Cutting It In The ATL.

It’s on WE TV, we just wrapped up filming. I did a special appearance on there last year and they put me on as a cast member so I’m very excited about that.

This season is more drama of course. Me and a few ladies get along well and some of us do not but I think that you’re most definitely going to see some new endeavors in their life.

Dedra who I’m very close to, she’s opening an academy in Conyers. A few of us have a lot going on so we’re excited about this season.

Are there certain celebrities who could use your help in the hair department? 

I would love to get close to Kim Fields and work out that blonde for her, I would love to get to Kenya Moore and take her out of all that weave and give her something funky and chic, I think she needs that especially at her age. I would love to take NeNe back to her short haircut, I think she rocks that very well.

What are Atlanta’s current hair trends?

Ladies are the drag queens and drag queens are the new ladies. Ladies are wearing two or three packs of lashes, lace frontals, whole heads full of weave, the thick brows, they’re doing everything. The biggest trend now is the illusion, everyone wants the illusion of being someone else. You don’t know what your’e getting when all of that comes off.

I think the weave phenomenon has taken over, I think the weave and wig situation is at its highest peak.

What do you want people to learn about Tre Stylez on Cutting It In The ATL?

I’m passionate about it, I really give my all towards my clients. I’m more than just their stylist, they sit in my chair and I’m their minister, I’m their husband, I’m their boyfriend, I’m their best friend. I’m everything and I love it.

I want people to know that I’m most definitely a good hearted individual. People are definitely going to see that this season on Cutting It. Everyone thinks that I’m just a laughable teddy bear but they’re also gonna see how I get you together if you’re trying to come for Tre Stylez.
