Mariah Carey chats about motherhood among other things:

“Obviously, having a kid is a commitment for life. I really would have to be very, very positive that I was in a place where I could completely focus and put everything into the job of being someone’s mommy, because it’s hard enough to have a puppy.”

“Nobody could get me to that point [of suicide] because I have too much respect for God and for life. One of the rumors I just heard about was that $150,000 in plastic surgery. What in the ham sandwich do they think I did? It’s very annoying.”

Mariah says she choses to remain private about her vote, but still lets everyone know it’s Barack Obama she’s supporting by saying “Yes we can!”

We can’t see Mariah being anyone’s “Mommy” except for that little dog Jack she’s been toting around for years.

I could see her appearing more as a mom than as an older person trying to be young…the only obvious plastic surgery she seems to have had are breast implants…if she’s supporting Obama, she’s alot sharper than she’s been given credit for….go Mariah!

I have every CD Mariah made including Litter, opps I mean Glitter. I am a fan of her music only so I have to agree with LisaLisa. She is too self absorbed to be a mother. Mariah is one diva that has never been caught without makeup. I am kind of worried about how she will respond to turning 40 in less than 2yrs.

Why does she have to be self-absorbed just because she doesn’t want kids??? Not everyone does, you know. Mariah is the *****. There isn’t a single ***** in the game who can ***** with her. And yeah, she knows it.

Why does the statement “Yes we can” mean that she is for Obama? Why are they *****uming “we” as is “African-American”? She could mean “we” as in a “woman” becoming President.

I agree that a woman doesn’t have to be self-absorbed not to want kids. There are so many bad mothers out there that should have realized they wasn’t ready for motherhood because they treat their kids like crap (e.g., Britney Spears).

Kudos to all that have the good sense when to know that motherhood is not for them and not to bring another human being into the world and scar them for life.

I like Mariah a lot and respect her decision not to have children and to stick with the dogs… she can always adopt and help out some unfortunate children.

i can’t imagine Mariah being a mother.. she likes to drink alot and travel at the drop of a dime, children would seriously hinder her lifestyle.

& i still think she got cheek and breast implants, i hope that didnt cost her $150,000

Agreed. Motherhood is not for everyone! Her response shows she has given the subject some serious thought and has made an intelligent decision, one that is best for HER.
