Surprise!

Serge Ibaka Introduces His Daughter Ranie

In a touching new video Serge Ibaka is officially introducing the world to his 10-year-old daughter Ranie, the child he fathered at 16.

According to Serge his family kept Ranie a secret from him for YEARS out of fear that he’d end his NBA career and return back to war-stricken Congo.

“She’s a gift from God because she’s smart, I try to be the best person I can be for her,” says the Oklahoma City Thunder star in the video about his “angel.”

Yahoo News reports:

The Vertical’s Chris Mannix tells the story of how Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka reconnected with his daughter, Ranie.

Ibaka, a core piece of one of the NBA’s best teams, left the Congo at age 17 to pursue a basketball career and a better life.

With his basketball career in mind, his mother kept a major secret from him – that he had a daughter – because she was fearful Ibaka would return to live in the war-torn country.

Just three years ago, Ibaka learned of Ranie, and now she is the focus of his life.

So heartwarming!

In case you’re wondering, it’s unclear if Ranie’s met Serge’s longtime girlfriend Keri Hilson—but she apparently LOVES to belt out the singer’s songs.

Absolutely precious.

Hit the flip for more sweet father/daughter preciousness between Serge and Ranie.
