Please! If Michael Jackson still looked like Michael Jackson but was pale white, I would buy the skin disease story. But he changed his nose, he stretched his eyes, he wore wigs, he resculpted his face entirely, he was definitely trying to be “less-black”. I think he was probably going for the Hispanic look, as rumor has it, that he really liked to smash out Hispanic boys.

NONE MUFUGGAS! Michael had vitiligo and lupus. He told us plenty of times and there are pics to prove it. Yall so fuggin stupid for believing that tabloid garbage about him wanting to be white. He knew he was a black man and was proud of it.
Lots of people with vitiligo do not choose to bleach themselves white to blend their skin. Before MJ got “vitiligo” he was bleaching his skin. It is and was apparent that he had body dysmorphia disease; not to mention an entire family that engaged in plastic surgery. I believe the parents laid the foundation for self hatred and the world we live in helped continue to perpetuate it. I loved his music but felt sorry for him because he was obviously very disturbed. I hope he has finally found the peace he so desperately needed.
He may have had vitiligo BUT did he really need to do all that work to his face? He changed all his features to that of a caucasian. Had he been light bright with a big nose I would have been ok with it but instead he changed everything. He even wore wigs in the styles of white men. He went all the way out to accomplish that look.

Sad to say but most black people hate the way they look and wished they were more european. What about perms, wigs, weaves, 360 texturizer, nose jobs, change pitch and tone of voice, skin lightening (that everyday Black Americans apply). Just tell me that Tyra, Beyonce, Lil Kim, Vivica Fox, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, transgender black men who change their hair to look straight, BET hosts, TVOne hosts are not trying to look less black. Yes MJ had a skin disease but that still doesn’t explain why he would pay for white test tube babies. This would be explainable if he was sterile but his doctors have never confirmed that he was so its obvious he wanted to be white.

He had vitiligo. Debbie Rowe said in an interview a few years ago, that he didn’t want to use his sperm because he didn’t want chance his offspring to develop vitiligo. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease, like multiple sclerosis or lupus, and those diseases can skip around family members or even generations. My dad had sarcodosis, and we don’t know of anyone else in the family having that disease. You can see the splotching in some later pictures. He had issues, of course, but with the BS he had to put up with all his life, who wouldn’t?

5 to 7% chance that his biological children would have inherited the disease..this is an extremely small percentage for a man to go to the extremes of buying white test tube babies. I think MJ definatley used his disease to hide his infatuation with being white.
Im not talking about the vitiligo because it is very rare, so it is possible to only have one person in the whole family have it, even the size of the Jackson clan. Secondly I don’t know what made him want to change his features to less African. It could have been Joe making fun of his nose and dark skin, it could have been the pressures of society, especially in Hollywood feeling like that one black kid (I know I have…I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood); ***** like that can bring on some big insecurities. But I guess Michael was an extreme reflection of what a lot of us Black people feel and do from time to time. Many Black people have been conditioned to feel that being Black is inferior, so they do things that can make them less ‘black’ or what have you. Like someone said before, getting texturizers, weaves, bleaching skin (very common in Africa). Many Black men whether they admit it or not tend to have a pension for wanting girls who are not Black or girls who are Black with the least amount of African features (ex. thin nose, light skin, wavy hair). I believe that in turn have made Black women who are darker aim for marrying Whites, Asian,etc. for the fear of having “too dark” children with black men. Even what disgusts me the most is an article that I read about on CNN how there are single African American women adopting, but they don’t want their children to be dark. What the hell? I don’t know, but we as Black people have a lot of deep-rooted insecurities we have to get over in order to progress

Listen Michael is to blame. He hated himself on many levels including his sexuality. He was really just a gay man that did not have the courage to live as a gay man and he would have been vilified by his family if he had. All of the other greats, Ray Charles, James Brown, Sammy Davis, Sidney Portier, on and on were not as crazy and mixed up as Michael. His stupid father ridiculing his looks didn’t help none either.

Althought i do believe now that he had vitiligo, it still doesn’t mean a person couldn’t bleach their legs to be lighter.
And someone said why didn’t he wear brown makeup. A couple of years ago his makeup artist said he did. But The Vitiligo became too severe. How much brown makeup can u put on. When his ***** is on stage wouldn’t he swaet it away. Black ppl rather stay ignorant rather than be educated. Maury had a show about vitiligo a few years ago. There were black ppl u wouldn’t even know they were black until they told u. Their skin had already completely changed on its own. And they were teased for years about it.

@ charlieblanko he did originally try to cover up the depigmentation with darker makeup in the beginning (see thriller video) but when it started to take over larger area’s of his body he started using lighter makeup until he could no longer cover it with that. so he went to more drastic measures to have even colored skin. As someone said he only bleached visible area’s which explained why he was always covered up from head to toe. high necked shirts turtle necks. Thats where the glove came from. to hid his hand that was a totally different color from the rest of his body.

Micheal did not want to be white. As mentioned earlier he had a skin disease. Shame of bossip for jumping on the media’s bandwagon to attack a dead man. The problem with the media is they want to tell an individual how they feel even when the person gives them exclusive interviews. Micheal in many interviews addressed his skin disease. Many people who actually know him personally said he embraced and love his african american heritage. Why should celeb’s even give interviews when the media is still going to have their twisted opinions? We are quick to believe the media even after getting answers straight from the source, which in this case was Micheal himself.

Michael did have a skin disease, he also had lupus which causes secondary conditions such as blotching skin. I know two people personally that had both of his problems and they were both mature adults.
yes, I agree Mike had vitiligo. The media finally decided, after he was dead, to show us the pictures of his skin’s progression. I think Mike knew he was turning “stark white”, so he had to have his features look fitting… I think his father, the media, the conditions of American society is the reason why many blacks alter their faces and hair. Tyra Banks, Beyonce, Solange Gabby Union, Queen Latifah, Rihanna, etc have altered their noses and hair… this is a growing problem for Blacks America
Well we all don’t know whether he had it or not but his family is mostly to blame. When you CONSTANTLY tease someone especially as a child/teenager when you are finding yourself and are confused. That can leave a lot of damage right up into adulthood. Especially when it comes from family – people who are supposed to love and support you. The guy was just a mess and you could tell it was real the hate he felt towards his father for everything he had done to him.
Maybe you need to take some psychology courses ‘peaches’ but not everyone is strong enough to just disregard constant emotional abuse. He said even his fans started to call him ugly. And when I watched him talk about it I wanted to cry. It was so real. Not everyone is a bulldog and can just “get over it”. Words jurt and it stays with you forever. He had a skin disease that had him spotted. The best way to treat was to lighten the dark skin and make it the same as the light spots. That explains his skin color. What cannot be explained is why HE CHOSE to have White children. I can understand not wanting to use his sperm because he didn’t want the kids to have the same skin condition as he had but he still could have had black children. I loved MJJ even with all his weirdness – that didn’t take away from his talent. But I have to give old Mike a side-eye at wanting white children, that is unexplainable.

Michael did use dark makeup at the beginning stages but the vitiligo got too severe and also when people see the pictures of dude sweating from head to toe like he went for swim why would he keep wearing all that makeup, so he can look like he’s melting on stage? Vitiligo is a REAL skin condition that kills the melenin pigment cells, if/when all treatments fail, a person’s last option is to get their skin depigmented which is a long difficult process. Michael didn’t want to be white you idiots. He had the disease Vitiligo which destroys your dark pigmentation changing it to paper white color in blotches all over your body. Michael was a SUPER STAR and had to even the color out to something normal being he’s always in the media spotlight. Michael was VERY proud of being Black and of Black people. He surrounded himself and employed nothing but Black people around him. Michael has done more for Black people in his sleep than most of you will do in your ENTIRE LIFETIME. * sang about a beautiful African woman in “Liberian Girl”
* featured an African chant at the end of “Wanna Be Startin Somethin”
* donated over $25 million to the United Negro College Fund
* sang “I ain’t scared of no sheets” in “Black or White” and upped the ante by morphing into a BLACK PANTHER at the video’s end
* wrote a song called “They Don’t Really Care About Us,” with a Spike Lee-directed video that featured prisoners raising the Black power fist
* “We Are The World” and USA for Africa, anyone?
