Michael didn't want to be white... if you look at all of his brothers now they all look like who? JOE!!! Michael couldn't stand JOE so he decided to change his looks. if you had a father who destroyed your confidence and everything around you since you were born you would have some challenging problems yourself. That was an outcry for help when michael started changing his looks. It had nothing to do with him wanting to be white. He just didn't want to look in the mirror and see himself turning and looking like JOE!
