RASHIDA-JON-FAVREAU

Rashida Jones, the daughter of Quincy Jones, is stepping out with her new man:

Aw, Ali Campoverdi! The Maxim babe turned White House staffer used to date boombalottie Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau, but now it looks as though he’s left her. Favreau (not the Iron Man guy, kids) was recently spotted with an actress. Yeah, apparently this has been going on for a little bit, but it’s news to us! PageSix ran a little item this morning saying that Favreau was seen leaving his fancy Washington apartment complex with Office thespian Rashida Jones in tow. Sigh. We liked him and Ali better. It’s the too-soon end of a potential sexpot political dynasty. We haven’t been this sad since Elaine Chao broke it off with Norman Mineta after that awkward weekend they spent at her parents’ place.

We guess if you can’t get to Obama, the speechwriter will have to do for now.

  • coco

  • Its6amHoGetOut

    shes pretty

  • mermaid love

Is it really a swirl? She could pass if she wanted to.

  • BostonBitty

She looks very classy. Good taste in men too. Wish her all the best. :)

  • Resurrected

We all need to find more eduacated and qualified men to be in our lives…

  • nahnah

ummm, quincy needs to take a paternity test. he ain’t her daddy.

  • Sissy

I recommend you a nice milionaire dating site __Rich Flirts.c o m__. Whenever I chat with my friends on this site, I feel really relaxed and happy. They are easygoing and honest. I enjoy staying on the site. Hope you can find more nice rich friends there. Good luck to you.

  • Lovely

No swirl here. Her mother is white.

  • babyboogirl

I am happy for her. He is talented and fine as hell!!

  • chaka1

As for swirling, she has good taste at least. Get you a white man that’s got it going on.

  • Cutie

    Didn’t she date Tupac?

  • done with it

Whatever! she looks white and sounds it too. i dont understand why mixed pple qualify as black, they are still half white or whatever the other mix is. Mixed asians and white dont claim asian or white so why should we claim these halfies as black ugh its so dumb.

  • Winona Johnson

Quincy makes pretty kids! She is gorgeous!

  • manster

Good for her, black women please take notice, very few blackmen are going to come in here and call her all kind of names for dating who she like. On the other hand, notice the silence from blackwomen with this pairing as opposed to Kobe or Reggie Bush, or Wesley Snipes, etc. Hypocrisy at work!

  • Anonymous

    Kidada Jones dated Tupac.

  • Acacia

If people are happy, who cares? There is only an issue when idiots find another race superior to their own (which makes them look stupid and sparks a completely different issue)and feel as if they are “doing better” by dating outside their race.

  • Jay the Real One

meh, two average looking white people.

  • Not Jealous of Kim K, SuperHead, Pamela Anderson or that everyday Ho on the corner

The difference between Rashida is that she does not down Black men to justify/excuse dating White men.

When Black men decide to only date white women, they always come with some bull about an attitude or some other issue that they blame solely on all Black Women, then they go and select a white woman that seems to be even worse than what they encountered in black women but because the woman is not black she is given a “pass”.
Kim K has been run thru by the whole industry- but never called a Ho by black men.
SupaHead been run thru by the whole industry- but black man are the first to call her a HO.

Never seen a black woman only date white and dog out all black men.

  • Somer

Black people kill me thinking anything mix is pretty. This woman is average at best. She is FAR from gorgeous. She does have good taste in men. Educated and well connected. That’s what’s up. I wish more sistas looked in that direction instead of looking for swagger.

Swagger……….a made up word by black women to give a compliment to an other wise broke, uneducated, 4 baby mama having nicca. “He got a 6th grade education but he got swagger.”

  • http://www.freewebs.com/bestsexever cinCity

hold up.. thats a Baaaaadddd Chic!

  • OMFG

How is this even remotely swirl when the girl herself is half white? Please explain!

  • Jamiea

I thought her name was Khadijah jones…daughter of James Earl Jones???

  • UM….

Listen to the speeches. Not very good at all. Rashida is very pretty. We hope many a white woman will continue to consider black men, so that desperation will force black women to consider OTHER TYPES OF MEN WHO CAN ACTUALLY PROVIDE FOR THEIR FAMILIES. Please God.

  • DRENK

wheres the swirl?? I see two white people….???

  • medievalpoetry

How come we half-backs are accepted when it suits people, like in the case of Obama, but rejected trhe rest of the time? Make up your minds, we’re in or we’re out.

Also, it should be up to Rashida herself what she identifies as.

  • Not Jealous of Kim K, SuperHead, Pamela Anderson or that everyday Ho on the corner

@ Treez, Kim K does not carry herself as a lady in public AT ALL- the media only shows certain photos of her. But seeing her in action in NO proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Kim K is on Supahead status

  • BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL

Rashida is very light, but you can see she is not white – so yeah she is colored/black or whatevs..

I don’t think she is that into the black community to begin with. She always plays these ambiguous roles, so I guess she wants to distance herself. Her men are always white – this one is actually goodlooking! That’s a plus!! She used to date John Krasinski (?), a really big nose dude.. and Mark Ronson, another fugger.. SO SHE HAS DEFINITELY UPGRADED!!

  • Somer

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought she was average. I don’t know why some bloggers described her as gorgeous.

  • YorkieLover

People People, this is a case just like that Garcelle Beauvais lady.
Quincy Jones, himself,is mixed even though he looks more black. So Quincy Jones had a child by a white lady and you get Rashida…There you go.
Kinda like Garcelle is mixed(Creole) or something but looks more black.

  • YorkieLover

Black people kill me with wanting to claim everybody with little as 2% black genes as black, when they don’t even claim black themselves…We need to stop this cause it makes us look desperate

  • http://www.stewartsynopsis.com/Site%20Index.htm We “Blacks” Are The REAL Hebrew Israelites

Quincy got down on Michael for wanting to be White and doing it the easy way…instead of watering the genetics down over time through old fashioned perseverance and miscegenation.

    Hypocrite.

  • done with it

@ Treez, calm yourself i am not a bigot. You have valid points 1 thru 2. Historically it makes sense but as the ages go by its and interacial mix is becoming more accceptable shouldnt people be allowed to identify with what they want to be? We have a new generation of people who want their kids to identify with both races and not just one its only fair, nowadays one drop doesnt apply, let Tiger be what he wants to be i am sure his asian mother and black dad raised him to appreciated all sides of himself. just saying. Rashida obviously identifies with the more than just her black side she went from Tupac to this guy. i couldnt be bothered with your points 3-5. No need to be judgemental you dont know me.

  • cinque

He is black. So there is no swirl. Look it up.

  • http://bossip bb

This woman has chosen to identify with her white side and dates white men

So where does the “swirl” and being a “sista”come into it

President Obama has chosen to identify with his black side and married a black woman

People need to be logical and stop claiming the unclaimable

Everybody has a right to define themselves whichever way they see fit

If this woman was a crimminal with a deadbeat man I sure that she would automatically become white

  • msdiva

@ black is beautiful – I don’t think she necessarily wants to “distance” herself but she does not want to be defined as none of us do by our race….it’s just easier for her since she is very fair skinned…

I have nothing against black men dating white women or black women dating white men…unless there is an underlying issue such as self hate…just choose good people to be with…I as a black women primarily date outside my race…black women are going to have to be more open minded…first look at how 99.9% of the men talk to, at and about us on these threads…also look at the numbers in general…we just need to be more open to who we might end up spending the rest of our lives with.

  • DRENK

My great grandmother was octaroon, can I be in the club!?!?!?!?!

  • http://bossip bb

I have nothing against black men dating white women or black women dating white men…unless there is an underlying issue such as self hate…
    _________________________________________________
The issue is not always self-hate but frustration

If you are in a IR of your choice then you should be too happy to care about what anybody else is doing

If you are in a IR because you could not get a black man/black woman of your choice but would rather be with one

Then that is when the anger and bitterness sets in

It is basically a case of being unhappy at having to settle

  • geico lizard

Rashida said she isnt a black woman and she hates when people call her black. She wouldnt consider this a swirl since she isnt black in her mind. Quincy Jones talking about MJ wanting to be white but his kids want to be white and Quincy only dates white women so he cant talk.

  • Lies and Bullshit-aka-The Truth

I dont care who dates who, but why does she insist on wearing red lipstick? it makes her lips look so long and clownish- not the right lips for that lipstick

  • msdiva

@ bb – I primarily date outside my race due to circumstance. Based on the places I go, I just tend to meet more white men in general. I’ve happily dated white men since 2002 and it had nothing to do with me being unable to date a quality black men, I’ve had substantial long term relationships with both white and black men…I was making the case that no one should be angry, just find someone to be happy…I knew somehow someone would read something more to it then that…I am an attractive black women and have no problems finding men to date anywhere I go of any race and class.

  • She_4_Real

He needs to call Maury for that free DNA test!

  • http://bossip bb

    @ms diva
Did you even read my comment

I stated above that those that are happy in IR do not care about what others are doing.

They are just glad that they are in a loving relationship

It is those that are unhappy that are constantly bad mouthing others

Why are you emphasising on how attractive you are when my comment does not pertain to your situation

Please you are really giving me unnecessary information I had already assumed you were happy

  • Ummmmmm….

Hello!!! She is biracial so how exactly is that swirling?????? They make a cute couple — stop trying to start $hit.

This has been the historical classification system in the U.S. Therefore, the AA community and culture has always been comprised of “mixed” people. We are a “mixed” community, though not as extensively mixed as (many) Hispanics. So, it’s always been this way, for the most part. Mixed blacks were rejected by the larger society and their non-black families, so they’ve been nurtured and raised as blacks (for the most part). Just because it’s not more socially acceptable, even “desirable”, to be mixed doesn’t mean that entire communities should be “reclassified” just to satisfy some people’s ideas of what a black does or does not look like. Personally, if I have mixed children, I want them to identify with and be proud of their entire heritage. However, I want them to also see themselves as AAs, b/c being mixed has never made you non-AA. I personally don’t like the terms “mixed” or “bi-racial” because I think they are so ambiguous. One can be black/white, Asian/Hispanic, white/Asian, etc. Are those the same things? No. So, what does “bi-racial” really mean? I would prefer if people checked off more than one box to truly identify their heritage. Anyway, as one can be Chinese/Chilean and still be Hispanic, one can be black/other and still be AA.

  • Janae

    @ done with it

I meant to say “now” more socially acceptable to be mixed.

  • ReBeLR

LMFAO! @ Treez. & yall are crazy, she’s a beautiful chick.

  • white male

I saw her at Trader Joe’s a couple of weeks ago. She is cute and looks at least 30 and I would never guess she had any black in her.

I accept everyone as they are, including you. I think it’s wrong to be unkind to people b/c they are mixed. There’s nothing wrong w/being mixed, as there’s nothing wrong w/not being mixed. I have two black parents, have rich brown skin, and I have no problem w/you being who you are.

  • Soul Ese

I believe I read that she considers herself Jewish like her mother and that she actually practices the religion. I’ve always thought she was cute but I couldn’t figure out if she were biracial until I looked her up.

  • Janae

I just read this comment and understand/agree w/your perspective. I would just say that I am hesitant to reclassify AAs for the following reasons. As a minority group, AAs (to date) have been the most politically unified and politically involved group in this country. In the past, there has pretty much been blanket discrimination/rejection of non-whites in this country. However, the demographics are changing, and soon whites will be the minority. We also know that AAs are not really expected to grow much in the future, while Hispanics and Asians are growing rapidly. I personally feel that part of the purpose of this social movement to change the way people are identified is to erode the numbers of the black population and to keep people of color from identifying w/each other and realizing their shared political interests. Now, maybe it’s b/c I was a P.S. major, and I tend to look at the power dynamics in most situations. I don’t think everyday people are thinking like that. But, certainly, when people are “mixing” for the more appropriate look, etc. they are doing that in a way. Anyhow, on a personal level, I don’t really care if for e.g. Rashida wants to identify as AA or other. But, if the way she and other mixed people identify themselves is going to aid in the continued socio-political oppression of blacks/coloreds, I do. I’m sure most people don’t think of it this way, and that’s fine. I have a personal opinion, and these ideas are what it’s based on.

  • Janae

    @ done with it

    “that” it’s based on

I’m thinking faster than I type. Sorry for the typos.

  • Halle Berry

I 2nd that Quincy, i use to like black men till they beat me upside my head. Now i got a nice cute white man with a baby who will stay clear of black men period. See you at the BET Awards next year.

————————————————-SO TRUE!!! Rashida has gone on record numerous times saying she identifies as a WHITE JEWISH woman. Mainly because she was raised primarily by her mother and because of her appearance.

Her sister Kidada, who is brown skinned and married to a black man says she only sees herself as black.

Barack Obama is on record saying he considers himself black.

Just let ppl be and stop trying to place them in YOUR pre-conceived boxes.

  • Dark

No swirl here. All Vanilla. Two white people.

  • http://bossip MoniSings

    *Yawn*
I don’t have any respect for Q because of those ill statements he made after MJ passed. He is a narcissist and a terrible “friend”. I’ll take a pass on knowing anything more about him or his family.

  • okk

whos daughter you mean??? step daughter or adopted daughter or something dna dont lie n it sure aint here people stop the nonsense..unless ahe really straghtnens out the hair but i sure dont buy that, genetics wise

  • Illuminate Truth

Swirling….which one is swirling? Which one is black and which one is white? Hell, I’m confused.

Quincy needs to stop…..done gone and made him a white girl.

  • ellegirl

Personally I think the whole idea of “swirl” posts is ridiculous, but why are people arguing that this isn’t a swirl because she is mixed but no one ever says that about Hank and Kendra, when Hank is mixed???

  • M

    Rashida is GORGEOUS!!!!!!

  • nikita

this ain’t swirl, i don’t care who her daddy is.

  • good riddance

Good for Mr. Favreau, a real upgrade. Alejandra Campoverdi is utterly awful.

  • andrew

Rashida is actually Jewish. TO be Jewish you just need a mother who is Jewish. She does look dark even with her light skin and that is because the Black/Asian genes are so dominant.

Even if you have one black/asian grandparent and three white grandparents, the dark gene will still dominate most of the time. It is all to do with genetics.

I am not a racist, just being honest, and I have no problem if she dates any type of man.

  • Fd

She can date any one if she want

  • wisdom2

This is not hypocrisy. If you didn’t know her father was black. You would think she was Italian/white.

    She is white also.

  • Fd

Andrew you are wrong prove it
