Bossip has learned that Q-Tip has joined forces with Ballentine books to publish his first book entitled Industry Rules.  Apparently, the book will give Q-Tip insight on the music industry, love, music, fashion and more. The book uses one of Q-Tip’s most famous rhyme lines to expand on the book’s purpose “Industry rule #4080/Record company people are shady.”

The line became very popular in the 80′s and has since inspired him to expand on his thoughts.  Q-Tip said in a statement:

“It was important to me to write a book because on the whole, I feel we could all be more literate, and as an artist, I’m always looking for ways to do something cool, different, and both light and introspective at the same time,”

“With so many influences, like Duke Ellington’s writing, or the music played by radio DJs in the 70’s, or just what you see hanging out on Linden Blvd., there’s a lot to say, and I look forward to reaching a bunch of colorful dudes and gals with the project.”

Finally, we get a book that has more substance and isn’t just your normal tell all or hoe-tale!

Q-Tip is the man! He exemplifies the class of hip hop artist that was common during the 80′s and early 90′s.

Today’s “rappers”, on the other hand, are just a bunch of childish, self absorbed dinglings!
