Athlete And Reality Star To Face Off In Court
Former NBA player Stephen Jackson has sued his reality star ex fiancé, demanding his child support be cut down for their two kids following his retirement from the league last year.
According to official records obtained by BOSSIP, Stephen slapped his former fiancé, “Basketball Wives LA” star Imani Showalter with a modification of child support/alimony lawsuit in Georgia Court earlier this month.
The petition is to decrease the child support payments he makes for the two children they share from their relationship.
Stephen and Imani were engaged and set to be married in Houston back in 2005.
However, it was rumored that he hit her with a prenuptial agreement to sign right before the wedding – and she refused to sign it on the day and the wedding was cancelled.
The NBA star has been critical of the show saying Imani was never married to him and the show should be called “Women who sleep with/ slept with guys in the NBA” not “Basketball Wives.”
It’s unclear how much Stephen has been paying in child support per month but the amount was based off his salary at the time of the court order when he was raking in millions from the NBA.
He retired from playing last year after 14 seasons and earning over $62 million dollars.
However, the checks aren’t coming in like they used to and clearly Stephen wants his child support cut down due to his current financial situation.
Imani has yet to respond to the lawsuit in court.
