If the musician bankrolls the film, they have every right to star in it and only a hater would be mad at that. It’s one thing for a studio to choose a musician over an actress just for name recognition but its a whole different issue when the singer produces the film. If they put up their own money, then the film must mean something to them, too.

People didnt want to give her props for Dream Girls cuz J.Hud demolished her role, I believe she did great because her character was meek and weak. I’ve never seen Dream Girls… and I honeslty have not wanted to because of Beyonce. Whenever I see her act, it’s like Beyonce plays Carmen Jones, Beyonce plays that person. Point being I never see the character I only see her and that’s a sign of a bad actress. I would love to see some other Hollywood actress in this role…maybe an unknown. The only way i see Beyonce believably acquiring an oscar is when and if she decides to do a non-singing role where she loses herself so completely in the character there’s no trace of Beyonce left…meaning it’ll no longer be Beyonce I’m seeing on screen but the character. Unfortunately she’s not capable in doing this. In every movie she’s starred in I see Beyonce merely saying lines not truly acting therefore it’s her I see and not the character which is why she’s in my opinion in no way a true actor and takes away from a movie.
