  • Doc

the new albun is aight ive heard better albuns from maxwell.

  • Speaking the truth…

He said something very important…he thanked his fans for waiting 8 years because real music is not a conveyor belt…”life has to be lived” to really portray what an artist is all about.

This is why that man has the aura he has on his fans both male and female. Thats what real music look and feels like yall..

    WHAT! He is awesome.

  • Sissy

I recommend you a nice milionaire dating site __Rich Flirts.c o m__. Whenever I chat with my friends on this site, I feel really relaxed and happy. They are easygoing and honest. I enjoy staying on the site. Hope you can find more nice rich friends there. Good luck to you.

  • Doc

    i love that song.

  • Jade Silver

    @ Speaking the truth… PREACH!!!

  • nobody cares

I love Maxwell…can’t wait for the second installment. Great music, I’m happy he came back to so much success.

  • nobody cares

oh and i do miss the hair…and kinda wish he’d stop with the suits, it stifles his aura IMO

  • serene

The no hair grew on me. I luv em either way. He’s one of those artist that can do no wrong where music is concern….at least for me.

  • Nikki

    CTFU!!! @ drenk
I almost got caught on the internet laughing at you!

  • THE TRUTH

I soooooo love love love that song it stays in heavy rotation.

  • michezulu

Maxwell said it best real music takes time.

Hats off to the makers of real music.

  • Starfacexo

He is such a beautiful man…

    And very talented!

  • Pooty Tang

    I love Maxwell!

To those who say his look is suspect, get over yourselves. All men dont have to wear baggy pants hanging off their arses. I love the tailored look and I love it on my boyfriend as well.

I like his comment that good music comes from living life and it shouldnt be produced like a “conveyor belt”. Take note Beyonce.

  • ummmmm

His talk Voice and Singing Voice are Sexi As Hell Yummmmmmmy

  • ummmmm

    *talking

  • Pooty Tang

Bad Habits, Cold, Pretty Wings and Help Somebody are my favorite songs on his new album BLACK Summer’s Night.

  • TrueStories

    @ Denyk:

Pretty Wings was played at a friends funeral last weekend while white doves were released in his honor. He was a beautiful person taken from us in a case of mistaken identity.

  • http://bossip.com cleopatra

I love this man. I mean I really love this man. Look at him up there looking like a 1940′s church boy.

  • Poked in the Morning…

love love love that album! get it, you wont regret it

    ___________

those are my top favorites as well.

I got ‘Bad Habits’ on repeat though. I can relate to that song hard!!!!!

  • the insider

    WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Saw him live a couple of nights ago. I’ll never look at him the same. If I had no sense in me I would be that groupie at every show, rockin a itty bitty dress and no underwear.

Love him! The music is PHENOMENAL and his persona, stage presence just makes you weak for the man.

  • http://coloredgirlspeak.com ColoredGirlT

I am BEYOND excited that he’s back in the game. In a recent interview he said he’ll probably bring back the afro and he’s trying to work on doing a duet with Sade. *faints to the ground*

  • Loch Ness Monster

He looks too good in that suit…damn!
Maxwell, holla at me. I’m a monster but people tell me I’m pretty on the inside.

  • Divine

I’m so glad REAL music is back!
    Maxwell makes me happy :)

  • mpnupe3

Album is great. Only wish he would give you more than one track per year he was out the game. I just want more from my dude. Last you heard from him a womans worth and that was almost 9 years ago. Maybe he will hit us with another great album next year. Black summers night is great though!

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Maybe for a regular RnB artist, but my guy used to put an album out every year…granted some were hit and misses. OK maybe only icons can put several albums out…I’m just talking stuff, don’t mind me

Oh my…not does two procrastinators together…your album will be out in about 10 years and it won’t be great.

  • FACINGREALITY

Maxwell always serves up good music. Like he said, you have to live the music – it can’t be produced on a conveyor belt, which is what most artist do today. And the main reason they will never be perceived as icons because their music is not iconic. Maxwell has the time of music that you can listen to years from now and it is still relevant because it is music that has been lived.

  • $$$=God in America

thANK YOU HE SAID WHAT i HAVE BEEN SAYINGTHIS WHOLE TIME. THE ONLY REAOSN BEYONCE CAN ONLY MAKE RUMP SHAKING MUSIC IS BECAUSE SHE HAS NOTLIVED A REAL LIFE. sHE IS TOO SHELTERED AND HAS BEEN HER WHOLE LIFE. THE BEST SONGS SHE HAS WERE NOT EVEN WRITTEN BY HER.

wE NEED REAL MUSIC IT SEEMS LIKE THE R&B MEN ARE ALWAYS KILLING THE WOMEN IN SOULFUL MUSIC.

MAXWELL IS RIGHT ON TIME BABY!!!!

LET’S BE REAL THE MEN KILL IT IN R&B

THIS IS WHEN IT IS ABOUT THE CONTENT OF THE SONG AND NOT JUST A GOOD COMPUTER GENERATED BEAT…..

  • chaka1

    I need to have Maxwell’s baby…

  • mpnupe3

i guess i didnt look that deep into it and selfishly just wanted more out of him. But the last few comments are right on. It takes time to live your music and not just serve up a hit for afew $$$. The true admiration comes in loving and living the music!

  • mpnupe3

Albums good its an album that you wont love immediately. Eventually it will grow on you though

  • http://bossip MoniSings

Go head on, Maxwell. So much love to you, Mint Condition, Eric Benet, Jill Scott, Angie Stone and all the talented others keeping REAL music in the game. Your gifts are greatly appreciated in an industry where bullsh*t tracks, monotonic vocals, autotunem and generic beats have taken over.

You give people like me fresh air to breathe. So glad you are back!

  • http://bossip MoniSings

    autotune*

  • Mark

Thank God there is still one real R&B Artist left putting out real music. All these copy cat new manufactured artists are as generic and boring as a boiled steak.

  • Ummmmmm….

    LOL! @ charlieblanko being 1st

Maxwell is still the king!! Anyone hear his new CD yet????

  • mcleod10

    luv it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tarabk

    Great songs, great performer!!!

  • Poked in the Morning…

    chaka1

    I need to have Maxwell’s baby…

  • EloB

I love Maxwell, I never get tired of listening to him…his music is so timeless..

  • DizzyGuy

He looks really good with his hair cut. I love Pretty Wings and This Womens Work…get em Maxwell!!!!

  • olsweetdickwillie

Damn I make some love off this song, talkn bout 5nutts min….

  • Monk

    mpnupe3

Albums good its an album that you wont love immediately. Eventually it will grow on you though
    =———————————————–

I have always felt that Maxwell was way above the crowd of R&B artist, but this song, “Pretty Wings” just doesn’t do it for me.

  • HoneyChile

I love him, love him, love him! All the negative comments boo to you!!

  • lakeshow

As Maxwell’s number one fan, I hate to say it but this album was kinda disppointing. I had become used to him writing and performing “classic” songs, but there are no songs on this album that would ever be considered classics. I am not hating on Maxwell; just being honest. The only two songs on the album that were possibly above average are “Stop the World” and “Playing Possum”.

  • bcan

    i love it!

  • QUICK SIN

I think the album is a banger, his second best to me. I like all the songs. “I DO UNDERSTAND IF IT’S TOO DEEP FOR SOME PEOPLE”. It’s surprises me to see all the SHALLOW CLOSET HOMOS try to call him gay -if your concerned then you have a complex about your sexuality and should seek a way out of your closet. it’s a about the music fellas… Maxwell has gotten me laid so many times in my youth, by the deepest of sisters…R Kelly will get you some head, but Maxwell will get you some kids…

  • Sojourner TRUTH

lakeshow… as a Maxwell superfan also I understand the feeling. I think he has set the bar so high with his previous releases that it’s hard to consistently produce at that level.

I’m sure by the time the entire trilogy is released we’ll get the “classics” we’re looking for, but this first release is more than enough to satisfy me for now.

I think when it’s all said and done he’s going to give us that set of classic CDs like Stevie Wonder did albums.

  • landamonroe

    @whateva…tell it!! so the truth

Maxwell’s a great performer…just saw him a few days ago live in concert voice was on point and everything else!! he deserves that respect and the number 1 spot! Haters continue on, he will remain on top

  • enlight

um, maybe this is why he needed to cut the hair and get ghost for almost a decade!! some of yall (ahem–us) would rip his clothes off on the street!

by the way, anyone know what city he lives in??

  • enlight

    seriously….anyone know??

  • Sugamama

Real music is back!! Maxwell’s cd is all that!! Im loving the grown man hair and suit!!

  • mzmelbourne

the music industry has been saturated rated for so long with music that has no substance, maxwell’s new cd is very refreshing, it had to grow on me because as an artist who sets the bar so high for himself i thought it was okay my first listen, as i really started to pay attention to the words i realized this is waht i have been craving for for so long…. thank you maxwell for delivering a solid album that reflects your personal growth and style. today’s music hs no substance. i’m very particular about the mmusic i purchase, but i knew it was something special about this man’s cd, after hearing pretty wings for the first time on radio. i love his comment about breathing life into the music, and not being a conveyor belt, why do you think beyonce remains stagnant her music reflects her lack of growth. but this isn’t about beyonce, this is about real soulful music that has a place in our lives. i love his current album and the ones to follow i’m sure i will love also.

  • Choocolate Dude

FACT>>>> Maxwell didn’t want to put his picture on his 1st album due to he didn’t believe people would purchase it because of the way he looked.

Times have really changed huh Maxwell..

  • Jacqui

My comment as Maxwell #1 fan in H-Town is that the new CD is the Bum! First of all it’s fresh and deep like the ocean on so many levels. The music reminds me of the old R&B music when it was real in stead of manufactured. I listen to this CD every day and I have fallen deeper and deeper in love with it and the way it was arranged. Hey only nine songs that okay because I can remember when Anita Baker CD that was one of her greatest that only had nine. Maxwell velvet voice which played heart strings in my soul as if laying on a cloud of music spoke things I experienced. All around the world same song. Keep on keeping on with your fine talented self. Love you!!!!
And for all you haters, hate on…………..

  • viola

yeah i miss the hair to but that was the old maxwell many years ago and for the ones who think that he is underrated, i don’t think so, what artist do you know can be gone for 8 years and come back and ppl are still checking for you, ppl are still buying ur music, not to many can do that, such a great talent and yes the album is very good, if you don’t have it go get it.

  • bria

it is such an honor to be able to listen to a black man perform now a days and not feel offended as a black woman. Thank you Maxwell and to all the others one’s that’s out here that does not get the recognition, like, Joe, Chico DeBarge, Will Downing, Kem, and Johnny Gill. I know that I am forgetting some but not on purpose.
