Cardi B Joins The “Being Mary Jane” Cast

Belcalis Almanzar a.k.a. Cardi B is adding the title paid actress to her resume. The “Love & Hip Hop”/social media star has been tapped to work alongside Gabrielle Union on BET’s “Being Mary Jane” as Mercedes, a reality star with a “ratchet personality.”

Senator Cory Booker will also appear on the show this season.

TV Line reports:

TVLine has learned exclusively that Love & Hip Hop‘s Cardi B will appear in one episode as — wait for it — a reality star named Mercedes. Per the official character description, she’s a “round-the-way beauty with a big weave, big boobs and a big booty to match her oversized, ratchet personality.”

Additionally, Senator Cory Booker will guest-star in an episode, while Vanessa Angel (Stargate SG-1) will recur as Olivia Bianchi, a real estate agent who becomes a mentor figure to Mary Jane’s brother Paul.

Being Mary Jane‘s fourth season, which premieres in January, will relocate Gabrielle Union’s character to New York City.
