Halle got the Oscar for finally baring her breasts onscreen, which is what white male movie execs all over had been waiting for for years. In Swordfish and in Monster’s Ball. Halle finally shows those tits, and *presto!*, she gets an Oscar. For playing the same damn character she played in Jungle Fever and Losing Isaiah.

i think Halle is not a bad actress, i measn she was excellent in dorothy dandridge for real! But she is where she is also because she has this looks!

Angela Basset is also a wonderful actress! But Halle is good too but the hype is only due to her looks! Lets be real! Angela Basset is a very beautiful woman and she was even more pretty when she was younger But…!

Thats GREAT!! Angela is one of the best actresses ever. I’m not going to go on and on about her getting under paid compared to some lesser, whiter actresses, or the fact that people like her never get seen on the cover of Vogue… I’m just going to say that she deserves it and I’m gald she’s getting the well deserved recognition.

and actually dayg715…what planet are you living on???? constantly here people debating on the whole denzel in malcomn x/training day and halle in losing isiah/monsters ball…as a matter of fact I wrote a paper on that in my ethnic studies class after it was discussed in the classroom numerous times. From my teachers to even my family that is a very discussed topic…

and please…I love Halle…but I do not think she has very much talent in the acting department…maybe more than the average theatre student but on Angela…never!
