Reason: If you no longer want the home, you still have to make huge mortgage payments until it is sold. In this economy, the house wasn’t going to sell for $2.9 mil (what Lisa/Ed paid). heck, the bank sold it for only $1.9 mil. Think they were gonna take a million dollar loss??!?
Stop paying the mortgage and the house (and responsibility goes back to the bank. May mess up your credit, but if you have $$$ all that means is a larger down payment on the next house.
