She had to have more on her mind besides milk. Some people will be quick to judge this senseless act but it may be stronger forces that play a picture in this. Regardless, she needs plenty of help.

Had to be about more than milk, unless this little girl is a certifiable nutcase, either of which I think they shoud look at very closely before sentencing this child to life.
Further, why was the man taunting this child? Sounds like mental abuse and she snapped. No telling what other evil little things he did to spite her, or jack with her emotionally.
I feel nothing buy pity and sadness for the little girl, but someone needs to advise her not to speak, if she’s going to be saying things that will get her life for sure….

I think there’s more to this story that isn’t been told. i have this gut feeling that this step grand father may have not been too grand fatherly towards this girl.

Hey Jade I agre. I think there is something more going on than spilled/wasted milk. I smell some type of abuse somewhere in there. Especially after she was yboasting to reporters that yes she did indeed do it an isn’t scared of going to jail. SMH. *hands up*

I believe there’s more to this story than what we’re reading.

I agree with some of the other postings.There had to be more to this than milk. This man poured the milk down the drain to spite her and it cost him his life. To deny children of food is ridiculous and it seems he may have been doing other things to her.

There is more to this than spilled milk. First off, the family was WELL known to child services, so things had been hitting the fan for a while. Why would he poor the rest of the milk out rather than giving it to the child? Only a vindictive person would do something like that to a child. I’m not saying what she did was right or he deserved to die but this was probably building up for a while, especially for her to be so callous.

I know this may be farfetched, but as a social worker, my radar is telling me this is an abused child who finally exploded.

There is something deeper going on with this girl. Maybe he had been abusing her and she just snapped. The truth will come out, this is so tragic.

There is definately more to this story. I feel nothing but sympathy for this child. I honestly dont think she realizes the seriousness of her actions.

however ppl do understand that emotional abuse is sometimes stronger than physical im not saying her grandfather abussed her emotionally or physically but that does make alot of since to me. I read this yesterday on another site where they said he didnt physically abuse her in any way. so maybe it was emotional abuse and she just snapped that day and couldnt take it anymore. Or maybe the child needs help, maybe she had psychological issues there is no age limit on mental illness it strikes young and old alike.

UMM it is wrong when ur child is having a child and neither one of you can support it. Im assuming you are that 29yr old grandmother.

Ladies take note, this is what can happen when you leave your children with some man you think you are in love with, It happens all the time, something else was going on here., I wish I would leave my child with a man alone that I am dating. I would kick m own butt.

Mistakes happen in all types of scenarios, it doesn’t have to be a cycle, unless we let it. I will more than likely be a grandmother by the time I am 48, (NO SOONER PLEASE JESUS) but my son will be 33.

I think there is more of a history to this one. smh

First. At 13 I knew not to run my mouth over some ish I knew I did wrong. Second. At 13 we all know it just wasn’t all about the wasted milk. Third. If the kids are being raised by Granny & Gramps, then parents must be dead or in jail (or in my case, was thrown in a loony bin). Fourth. If she is not scared to go to jail, IT IS possible that someone she loves and misses dearly is already there. Fifth—(NOTE TO GRANDPARENTS)There will be a bad seed in your offspring that you cannot save. The very best thing to do is pray for them and wish them well. Love them from a distance with your whole heart, but don’t let them in your house at your old age. If mommy & daddy aint dead and they kids are living with you, please use caution ALWAYS. Sixth. We said it has to be more about milk being poured down the drain–(I don’t know very many granmps out there who will pour milk down the drain unless it was spoiled, especially in this economy where a gallon of milk could cost $7.00)
I dont know the whole story but, if there is more to this story, at 13 she would have did gramps in his sleep. So until the full story comes out, THE LITTLE GIRL IS CRAZY.

I hate the media. Of course the young girl just didn’t stab her step-grandfather over some milk. It was the the way she had been treated in the home by her mean vicious step-grandfather, and ain’t no telling who else treated her badly.

It’s a shame what some people would put their children through because of their own selfish ways. Now this girl will probably spend half of her life in prison.

OK! NOTE TO GRANDPARENTS: (If you are in a loving relationship and married for more than 40 years, retired and enjoying it). You haved raised your kids and they now have kids. Thats great! If a bad seed comes out, it is automatic that you would want to help them. That is your grandchild. GRAND being the special word. The best way to help the grandbabies is to fix the parent (your child). YOU NEVER STOP BEING A PARENT BECAUSE YOUR CHILD IS GROWN. I say, if you want to help the grandbabies, help your child. I read a comment that the little girl was a crack baby and I found it weird. But, how many of us really know if the persons around us, were a baby of crack? A lot of crack babies don’t know themselves.

If there is something going on with my kid and baby daddy can’t resolve, I’ll call my mommy. If my mommy don’t have the answer I’ll call daddy.

I don’t think it is wise for a child to be raised with grandparents when the parents are out acting a fool. I say fix your child, and your child will be able to help their child.

Beause my husband’s mother was the same age as you when she had him….yet she is not married I just was curouse to see hoe different your life was then hers.

Absolutely…although he had a child young, with me , we decided to get married and not just be baby mamma and baby daddy…and he is a good man, does no drugs or drink, has a good job and takes care of his family. KUDOS to you fro raising a good man as well!

My parents are old school, and so my father was livid! He chased me around the car and was going to whoop my behind! (I still remember that day like yesterday) Tried to make me go to a home for unwed mothers and everything (we did go and took the tour and all)! But moms wasn’t having that, so after all of the hoopla died down, it was like ‘this is what we’re going to do’, and we raised him together (group effort) until I was 18, and moved out. After that, I still relied on them heavy for the next 6 yrs to get through college, and they never faltered. I married my current husband a few yrs later. The father of my son did ask my father to marry me, and my dad was like “Hell naw”! Thank GOD for good parents, who have the foresight to see things in a way that kids sometimes can’t! I would have been miserable if I married that man. He’s a good guy, and a good father, but he has 5 kids (our son is the oldest), and has to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet. He couldn’t help pay for our son’s 1st car, nor could he help pay for his college tuition. I care for him as a friend, but I am SO GLAD I am not in his wife’s shoes…

I am from Milwaukee and it is definitely more to the story because they interviewed her sister and the Grandmother and they both said they will stand behind/support her all the way…….does not sound like they feel she was wrong. I am inclined to believe she was just pushed to her limit.
