The man has paid beyond his dues and deserves a second chance. Although I like dogs, I don’t think he should have went to jail. Resources used to search and seize his home, investigate him and later place in him jail were misplaced. The Feds should go this hard after child molestors and murders, since when did the really care about animals anyway.

I thought it was a pretty good interview. James Brown did everything he could to make it a “mercy interview” but Vick held his own.

Look, I’m a big-time dog lover and pitt owner. I totally believe Michael Vick — he seemed completely honest, contrite and ready to be a better man. I feel like he really opened up about his feelings and his journey in the past few years since serving time and is truly sorry about the pain he caused. Give the guy a second chance. The 60 Minutes journalist was a total d*ck, tho, real condescending.

A perfect example. My brother passed away from a long illness, my co-worker’s dog died. She actually compared her dog dying to my brother. Ok, this shows you where our values are. Yes, you love your dog, but are you kidding me-my brother, an actual human being died. You can get another day, I can’t get another brother. Leave Michael alone. Actually not simple minded at all. Should he have received some type of punishment, yes. However, I feel that jail time for some dog fighting was unneccessary. Especially, since I live in Louisiana and these white people cockfight all the time, and I don’t see none of them going to jail and losing their careers. Although, cockfighting has just been recently banned by the State in the last five years, it still continues, and nothing is done about this.

I don’t think what he did was right. But that still does not change the fact that black man and white man are treated different in the justice system. And, as an attorney I see it everyday. Well, the productive founder of BetOnSports just got fined $44 million dollars and put in prison for four years for illegal gambling and interstate racketeering, and he never even tortured a single animal. You’re an attorney, tell me how these cases are different? Should we just smack him on the wrist and send him off to take a high-profile job that has traditionally had a standard of moral conduct because of the influence of the players? You’re a brilliant lawyer, how are these cases different?

Okay now onto this other case that you have mentioned. I am not familiar with all the facts of this case, but from the facts you stated, and some research of my own, yes he deserved to go to jail on this one. Due to the fact he swindled people at of their hard earned money. He falsely advertised that his company and gambling operations were legal, and mislead many people to the tune of $44 million that these funds were safe and available to withdraw at anytime they wanted, which was false. So, people basically lost a lot of money some lost their life savings. (Gambling addiction is a whole different issue. And, even if they did suffer from this addiction, stealing from them and false advertisement is still illegal and not right.)

So, again I am not sympathetic towards people who misuse or abuse humans in anyway, as you can see from me previous posts. Again to compare suffering of humans to dogs is just not comparable in my book. My opinion is not likely to change on this issue.

I don’t care about PETA in this but the animals and if they are the only figting for there right then someone has too… What if no one ever decided to fight for black people back in the day… I can understand on two different level how it is so wrong but a new world and a differnet age but caring and loving for others should no go out of style… Just saying…

So what I made a mistake about the Charles Manson case, he did not kill but in fact had his followers kill, so how is that relevant to today. I don’t represent him, so hence I don’t need to know all the facts of his case. When in law school they teach you the law, and important cases that set precedents, and this was not one of them. There was a lot of media hype behind the case, yet it set no precedents and was never even reviewed by the Supreme Court. Has for me on the computer chatting, I can do that, that is one of the perks of being an attorney, so stop hating.

REAL professional dog fighters treat their dogs like prized possessions. It has been the sport of kings and queens through the centuries. Some of the oldest and most respected breed have “warrior” type dog bred into them for their fearlessness and ferocity.

Dog fighting only fell out of favor when the poor where able to do it with inexpensive dog breeds. You can research it.

I have a dog also and I must say a dogs love is genuine because you know your dog doesn’t want anything from you other than the love it gives you back. I love our family dog. Whenever I come home from work he is the first person to greet me and I know it’s pure love and affection he is seeking, not like people that seek material things and money out of others.

Pitt’s are naturally “sweet” because they are bred to be docile to their master’s for better handling during pitt fighting.

I like the look of pitts (and blue pitts in particular) but I like more “people aggresive” dogs.

that was a comical owner of the Cane Corso. Who brings their dog to a fight with the ears uncropped and tail undocked? That was a “pet owner” who was probably talked into fighting.

WHY WOULD HE STOP THE FIGHT AFTER THE LEG WAS TORE OFF? That couldn’t of been a professional fight because no one would of allowed him to stop the fight. SMH.

The BEST breed is the Tosa Ken. (Ever heard of it?) They are practically banned in the States. In the hands of a real professional fighter a Pitt wouldn’t last 3 minutes with a Tosa Ken. They are larger but they are VERY aggressive with a thick skin.

I think what he did was wrong, but he paid his debt. Until he sets up another kennel or violates his parole, he should be given the benefit of the doubt. People harping on what he did will not reverse his actions. He admitted his faults and resolve to not repeat them. Case closed.

What Vick did was wrong but he shouldn’t have had to do jail time unless he was a harm to himself or other human beings. People kill animals to feed themselves, for recreation(hunting) and for fun. One kind of animal shouldn’t be put above the rest. The way in which he killed them was brutal and some may even find it immoral but he shouldn’t have lost everything for that.

Now that he seems sorry for his actions, people should forgive him and move on. A dog should never be put above a human being. It is impossible to treat all animals with love and kindness unless you’re a vegetarian.
