The man has paid beyond his dues and deserves a second chance. Although I like dogs, I don’t think he should have went to jail. Resources used to search and seize his home, investigate him and later place in him jail were misplaced. I didn’t realize the extent of what M.Vick did. I thought he was just fighting one or two dogs. I didn’t know he had equipment and was drowning, shooting, and electrifying them.

At the end of the day he paid the price. But I’m sorry in America they don’t like to see black men get ahead even if they haven’t done anything wrong, or have never been in jail. So the fact that he did something wrong means this will hang over his head forever.

The one guy who is the head of the Humane Treatment of Animals basically said that this is a lifetime commitment for Vick and if he faulters than the public will lose trust in him.

But I tell you one thing…if Mike takes the Eagles to the Superbowl people won’t give a ***** about no damn dogs…

Actually not simple minded at all. Should he have received some type of punishment, yes. However, I feel that jail time for some dog fighting was unneccessary. Especially, since I live in Louisiana and these white people *****fight all the time, and I don’t see none of them going to jail and losing their careers. Although, *****fighting has just been recently banned by the State in the last five years, it still continues, and nothing is done about this.

I’m not going to sit here and argue with anyone. My opinion is just that, MY opinion. No one has to agree with it but to me, YES it is MORALLY wrong to take the life of a living, breathing animal for your “Entertainment” no matter what it is, dog, horse, cat, etc.

Okay now onto this other case that you have mentioned. I am not familiar with all the facts of this case, but from the facts you stated, and some research of my own, yes he deserved to go to jail on this one. Due to the fact he swindled people at of their hard earned money. He falsely advertised that his company and gambling operations were legal, and mislead many people to the tune of $44 million that these funds were safe and available to withdraw at anytime they wanted, which was false. So, people basically lost a lot of money some lost their life savings. (Gambling addiction is a whole different issue. And, even if they did suffer from this addiction, stealing from them and false advertisement is still illegal and not right.)

So, again I am not sympathetic towards people who misuse or abuse humans in anyway, as you can see from me previous posts. Again to compare suffering of humans to dogs is just not comparable in my book. My opinion is not likely to change on this issue.

I don’t represent him, so hence I don’t need to know all the facts of his case. When in law school they teach you the law, and important cases that set precedents, and this was not one of them. There was a lot of media hype behind the case, yet it set no precedents and was never even reviewed by the Supreme Court. Has for me on the computer chatting, I can do that, that is one of the perks of being an attorney, so stop hating.

Is this the type of example he wants to set for the kids that look up to him? Bad enough his work ethic was horrible but I guess his God given natural talent made up for it. Kind of reminds me of Allen Iverson not wanting to go to practice. That’s why both these guys are walking around with no championships in there pockets and it’s a shame because they are two of the most individually talented athletes in the WORLD. Derek Jeter is the first guy in the locker room and the last guy to leave, that is a true athlete and a good role model.

REAL professional dog fighters treat their dogs like prized possessions. It has been the sport of kings and queens through the centuries. Some of the oldest and most respected breed have “warrior” type dog bred into them for their fearlessness and ferocity.

Dog fighting only fell out of favor when the poor where able to do it with inexpensive dog breeds. You can research it.

Pitt’s are naturally “sweet” because they are bred to be docile to their master’s for better handling during pitt fighting.

I like the look of pitts (and blue pitts in particular) but I like more “people aggresive” dogs.

that was a comical owner of the Cane Corso. Who brings their dog to a fight with the ears uncropped and tail undocked? That was a “pet owner” who was probably talked into fighting.

WHY WOULD HE STOP THE FIGHT AFTER THE LEG WAS TORE OFF? That couldn’t of been a professional fight because no one would of allowed him to stop the fight. SMH.

The BEST breed is the Tosa Ken. (Ever heard of it?) They are practically banned in the States. In the hands of a real professional fighter a Pitt wouldn’t last 3 minutes with a Tosa Ken. They are larger but they are VERY aggressive with a thick skin.

He was punished, paid the price for his crime and is moving on with a new job. The only thing I can figure is that he’s trying to quell any bad reactions from fans that may attend his games, which I understand. Glad he is embracing his opportunity!

But I must admit to being very shocked when I read how those dogs were tortured (electrocuted, drowned, etc.). I just can not fathom looking into an animals eyes and seeing it suffer in pain for pleasure.

As to whether he should he have served time in jail, none of that matters if there are laws to convict and imprison folks who parti*****te in dog fighting. If you know it’s against the law, DON’T DO IT – especially when you have EVERYTHING to lose. When someone has everything going for them, time has shown us that it will be *****ed away from them just to make them an example. If the laws need to be changed, that has to be done through the proper channels. Otherwise, you’re just making it easy for them to take ALL that you’re worked for. Just DON’T do it.

Yeah. A lot of vets won’t dock/crop Pitts because they know people are going to fight them. It is also illegal in some places due to fighting. How old is Dro?

Yeah, as they age dogs with their nuts get more aggresive too. They hump any thing. Your sons probably play with him more so he humps them more.

I have a feeling that the next step up from dogfighting is thug fighting.

Like just take a couple uncivilized “gangstas from da hood” put them in a cage and make them fight to the death. No weapons.

It would be broadcast live on PPV. Eventually, the thugs would be trained and given HGH to make it more interesting. And feed them only when necessary.

I’m disgusted in a lot of you guys right now!

I guess I just see things differently.

Honestly, I think dogs are beautiful creatures. Human’s like Vick turn them into vicious killing machines and it’s WRONG, I don’t give a sh*t what you say. Let him go play football and make his money cause I’m sure he is feeding a lot of people but for the most part, he has a lot of work ahead of him to try and clean up his image and he is doing & saying all the right things to do so but it just seems to me that he is being walked though this process… It doesn’t seem genuine but I guess he has the same mentality as the rest of you… “It’s JUST a dog” SAD

As far as this Vick drama goes, as a native Philadelphian I am ECSTATIC that he’s playing for the home team. As a human being, I feel that what he did was wrong, but he paid his debt to society.

Look, I agree and people are getting me misconstrued…

I think Vick is an excellent athlete, I mentioned that in an earlier post when I compared him to Allen Iverson saying that they are two of the best athletes to EVER play the sports that they both play, no one is arguing his talent as a football player. He is one of my favorite QB’s of all time, but I just don’t see how any human being with morals can condone him drowning, hanging, shooting or electrocuting dogs (Which he plead GUILTY too) that’s all I’m saying.

I’m not some crazy animal rights activist, I just think killing animal for pleasure is immoral & wrong, that’s it.

O.K. For those people that have no problem with what he did. Do you have a problem with the WAY he did it?

He could have quielty, hired a vet on the side and taken those dogs to be euthanized humanely. The way he did it was ignorant and arrogant.

What Vick did was wrong but he shouldn’t have had to do jail time unless he was a harm to himself or other human beings. People kill animals to feed themselves, for recreation(hunting) and for fun. One kind of animal shouldn’t be put above the rest. The way in which he killed them was brutal and some may even find it immoral but he shouldn’t have lost everything for that.

Now that he seems sorry for his actions, people should forgive him and move on. A dog should never be put above a human being. It is impossible to treat all animals with love and kindness unless you’re a vegetarian.

When you see Mike walking around in his own community, Newport News and the Hampton Roads area, going beyond what the courts have ordered and past what his “PR” people have suggested, it shows he is really trying to get his life together. He has a family to support, and he still takes care of his mother. And like most decent humans, he wants the best for them and will do what it takes to never lose out like that again.

PETA and all those self-righteous bunny kissing tree hugggers act like they want to see Vick wearing sackcloth and ashes, working at a carwash to pay his bills. How dare they say he should get a psych eval before playing again just to appease them, when their own workers are some of the cruelest jack*****es around.

And since when do we need society’s permission to earn a very decent living? He served his time, he is trying to fly right, and he deserves to be left to do what he does best.

And I hope he gets an opportunity to smash the shyt out of the Falcons. I’m just sayin’…
