I saw your comment on the other thread. Thank you for the mention. Isn’t it true though? It seems like for Hillary it’s all ego and she’ll take the party down with her. It is sad that a 60 year old woman doesn’t possess more humility and grace.

This is an excruciating time witnessing new racism being created to directly counter the candidacy of the best person for President, Obama!

Obama’s self-determination dismantles the conservative racist’s view of African Americans as charity cases and dismantles the liberal racist’s status quo of white women/gays first and black people last.

I too am disappointed in Al Gore’s and Howard Dean’s passivity here. The media’s misrepresenting Obama’s WINNING as a “tie” and Hillary’s building up McCain over her partymate Obama is blatant evidence of a fear of equality and a fear of moving on from white dominiance no matter what gender it is.

The social programs Pat Buchanan talks about were not created to move African-Americans into the mainstream. They were designed to further stigmatize, placate, and evoke dependency in order to counter and defeat African-American ideas of self-determiniation.

African-Americans actually wanted their 40 Acres and a Mule upon which to build and make their own way and instead we were jim crowed into settling for “programs”.

To paint a picture of a disneyland we have yet to realize and us as dead weight charity cases the whole lot of us. What of the accomplishments we have given America with no acknowledgment. If you agree with Pat where is your morality? Where is your self destruction switch?

Maybe we should be concerned with whether America will sacrifice a reputation of a prosperous, just, and powerful nation of the people to pretend presidents come in one shade and mistakes have never been made.

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?
