In response to this, I can understand why Khia would be upset. Khia, she must not have a good team, usually your manager, publicist and lawyer are supposed to be your advocate when it comes to business. Janet Jackson has never been the type of artist to not let other artists shine. I can think of past duets that she has done with artists such as Heavy D, MC Lyte (she even took Lyte on tour with her) and Qtip, Missy, she always let them shine. Perhaps Khia’s people did not fight too hard for fear that Janet’s people would say “we’ll just find someone else”. If I were Khia’s PR person, I would at least be sure that TV shows include her in the final editing and I would have made sure that she received a right to appear in the video! I think Khia is directing her anger towards Janet, but there are other people involved in decision making as well, not just her. Khia should not jump to conclusions, perhaps she does not know the industry as well as she should. I would advise her to get a new publicist! And Janet, in good faith could perhaps have Khia perform the duet with her on tour just a thought.
