This is such a sad story. I really feel sorry for the young lady. Hope you is able to work through her issues.

this is so sad, the other issue is that they will never live a normal life! my heart prayers go out to the whole family, this has to be difficult, but a great time in there lives right now…..

It’s interesting that white children remain so scared to the point that even when the opportunity arises to escape they won’t, (i.e. Elizabeth Smart hiding in the Utah bushes w/abducters as search party was yelling out her name). And this girl to be passing out ‘religious’ flyers in a public setting and trapped 18 years in a makeshift backyard compound. WOW!!! The husband and wife need double life in prison. And they still have to answer to God on Judgement day. What’s sad is she had children for this sicko and they were never exposed to the public, schools or other children. Something about this is beyond brainwashing…I mean she was 29 years old. It’s so sad to know things like this are happening in this debased world. Parents teach your children to be fearless and wise. We Need God’s kingdom and for the wicked to be no more.

Everyone keeps saying why did she remain when its obvious her two children would have still been there and if she escaped do you think he would have remained in the same house. NO he would have left and she would have never seen her kids again. I don’t think brainwashing has anything to do with it.

This story has shaken me for the last day or so. I’m so happy that she’s able to return to her family but after 18 years of this sick twisted life I’m certain that she will NEVER be fully right again…smh

Child Molesters should be subjected to the same punishment they deal to their victims. How would it feel when you cant stop whats happening to you?

Yeah, I’ve heard about that and the sad part is that it’s VERY common. They’re both sick and need to be locked away for the rest of their miserable lives just like they locked this poor girl away for 18 years of her life and made her miss out on her youth completely…this almost makes me want to cry…

@Alright Then….she had her first child at 13, that is still very much a child so no she didn’t have YEARS and opportunities to escape. Her kids were a part of her life well before she became grown.

This story literally makes me ill. This now woman and her two daughters are going to be messed up in the head for the rest of their lives. Now they are trying to see if he molested his daughters at all……just sick. Yes he needs to be castrated and buried under the jail. What a sick, sick, disgusting man. His wife is just as guilty with her dumb, sick a$$!

I also feel horrible for the stepfather who was a suspect for all of these years in her abduction! This family is going to have a lot of healing ahead of them…..my prayers go out to them.

This is such a tragedy, this poor young lady will never be able to have a normal life again.

CNN stated that the kids are 15 and 11. That would have made her 14 or 15 when the 1st kid was born, and 22 when the 2nd was born. If they got the facts wrong, my bad. Not saying that 14 is grown, I am merely suggesting that by the age of 14, your fight or flight senses should have kicked in, unless she was BRAINWASHED. Which I believe she was.

People say why did she stay? She was 11 years old when he took her. No telling what he told her. He had to manipulate her. He had to lie to her. We should never make a victim such as this think that it is their fault, because it is not. I am raising my grandchildren due to abuse and one was sexually abused and her loyalty was with the abuser. That is because her mind was played with, she was manipulated and lied to and her mind conformed to think what was being done to her was right, no matter what anyone said. I think that child molester’s and abuser’s should get life in prison with no parole, because they get out and do the same thing again. They are taking a life when they touch a precious child in such an awful way. My heart goes out to this family. I hope that sick bastard did not touch the children.

I hope that when they are sentenced to life in prison that someone go ahead and kill them !

I live in south lake tahoe and we have never given up hope for Jaycee, it is a blessing that she is alive and for whatever reason she stayed the main thing is that she is alive and reunited with her mother and family. No one will ever no the pain she endured keep her in your prayers
