I think PETA’s idea must be that we eat pigs, cows, sheep so they don’t care for their fate.
I understand their cause but I think some animal rights goups & environmental have taken things wayyy to far.
PETA kills animals anyway, so w/e to them and their hypocritical azzes as well. Naomi is about making her money. So it is what it is.

I agree. The original cause for PETA was to ban the unethical killing as well as treatment of animals. So back in the day, the fox, leopards, and other animals were being hunted for their pelts and then remains tossed. Just like elephants for their ivory.
Most animals it seems are protected by the Endangered Species List or Threatened version but it doesn’t stop poachers or illegal trade of the furs. PETA have activist but they somethimes act like terrorist. It’s almost a lost cause.

With that said, Naomi does look rather nice in this ad. Yes, despite her rotten attitude, I will give her props for looking great.
For those who don’t know the history behind PETA and Naomi, back in the 90s when Naomi was on top of her game, she and other supermodels did a PETA campaign for the ban or lessening of the fur industry, while under contract with PETA, Naomi was doing runway shows for Fendi where she was wearing nothing but fox, mink, and other crazy animal skins. PETA was furious with Naomi for going against their contract/campaign. PETA released Naomi from their contracts and never asked her to do another PETA campaign again.
I do believe that PETA and Naomi have made peace and the past is behind them, but at the time, people were like WTF! Why sign on to do an anti-fur campaign and still model/wear fur???

Why aren’t you beyond thinking that Black women who wear weaves have an unrecognized sense of self-hatred? Every culture from the dawn of time has worn hair pieces.
I, personally, have worn my own hair in every thing from a natural afro, to long weave, to braids, to dreads, to a perm, and then to a fade.
Although I concede that some black women do have self-hatred issues, and then turn to weaves to “mask” their blackness, I think it’s whack that no other race of people has to put up with the self-hatred argument when they wear wigs and weaves. When is the last time you ever heard someone say that Brittney Spears or Jessica Simpson hate themselves because they wear wigs and weaves? It’s a ridiculous argument in 2009 to make the wholesale statement that a black woman who wears weaves hates herself.
A weave for me is a fashion statement in the same way as a blouse or a bracelet it–when I get tired of it, I take it off. I’m pretty sure it’s like that for most women in general, including black women.

I hear your statement loud and clear, but being on a website were the demographic is clearly based on the black community, that day won’t happen on bossip.
