However, it doesn’t change the fact that there is too much corruption in third world nations, which exacerbates the horrendous terms of the World Bank/IMF lending machine. So, I can’t really admire, on any level, the Condi Rice’s of the world, because institutions like the World Bank/IMF/WHO, etc. use the Condi Rice’s as a facade for their own enrichment at the expense of the poor nations, usually populated by those who look just like you, me and Condi.

I have to vehemently disagree because coming from Zambia- i know for a fact that my governmnet had no choice but to accept the IMF Structural Re-adjustment Policies- With financial conditons that are forced on us- and govt- has no choice but to cut Govt expenditure on Healthcare, education, Infrastructure etc, which has a direct impact on the poor!- Africa is dying a poor death because the Western govts- the USA govt the main culprit- do not want us to develop! The Terms of trade as decided by the US govt’ agencies the IMF and World Bank are always rigged to favour your govt to the detriment of ours! ALWAYS- so it is not the poor starving Africans faults! If Africans had a equal playing field in world trade and allowed to develop using the African way as opposed to being forced to adopt American economic systems and palrty democracy- we would have a chance! but as it is- we are forced to take the USA style of democracy ( which clearly doesn’t even work well there), in countries and cultures which are vastky different from yours, and therein do our problems lie!

That withstanding- Condi Rice- I admire her as a Black woman who is educated and has reached the pinnacle of her career!! However it doesn’t change the fact that she is a War-Mongering Republican- who i bet does’t even have any Black friends other than Oprah!

I was going to comment on u folks ignorance. That was, ofcourse, until I saw that most of you on this board are ignorant. Condi is an accomplished woman. Maybe it’s ‘cuz I’m not American (I’m Nigerian), so it’s not in my nature to hate. When Condi went on a trip to several African countries, in Liberia, they gave her a standing ovation. I’ve seen some idiots on here and other posts getting angry at Condi because she went shoe shopping when Katrina hit. If Katrina had hit a predominantly white city, would it bother you if she went shoe shopping? Was she supposed to stop EVERYTHING she was doing until the whole Katrina situation was resolved? Why don’t I ask you what YOU were doing when Katrina hit? Or what? @cuz she was the sec. of state, she was supposed to fly there asap. On a lighter note, Thandi to play Condi? First of all, she is half-white, and please don’t pretend like you all don’t know that it means something. The person that was saying that Thandi doesn’t consider herself black should stfu. She does. She says she has a white daddy, so is biracial, but knows the dynamics of her life as a black person. Stop hating, the girl/woman is herself. She is proud of who she is. As much as I like her, and do think that she is just one of many people (sistas), that are on the receiving end of racism in Hollywood, this role, IMO, would have been better suited to someone of a darker complexion. Afterall, they wouldn’t have gotten a white hispanic to play one of the white characters, so why is it any different her, especially when the said character (Condi), is still alive and in office, so the difference in physical resemblance would be even more obvious? Afterall, I know that they’d never get a non-mixed sista to play a biracial chick!

But because I love Thandi, and I know she suffers the same lack of decent roles as other sisters(yeah she’s a SISTA) in Hollyweird, I will more than happily support any role she gets, as long as it is decent.
