Bossip has just learned that Shawne Merriman was arrested for choking out Tila Tequilla.
Tila placed a call early Sunday morning alleging that her boyfriend San Diego Charger defense Sean Merrimen physically assaulted her:
Early Sunday morning, Shawne Merriman was arrested on suspicion of physically assaulting Tila Tequila, a model and television personality. He was taken into San Diego County Jail.
Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, placed a call at 3:45 a.m., accusing Merriman of choking and physically restraining her. She claims Merriman prevented her from being able to leave his house, and signed a citizens arrest at the scene, charging him with battery and false imprisonment.

I was waiting until I heard more about this story. Now, I am not into sports and had never heard of Shawne Merriman until today, but I have heard and read about Tila for a long time.
Tila constantly lies and is an attention w*****. She said she was Ray J’s “wifey” and was pregnant by him which of course turned out to be a lie, she said she was going on a world tour this summer and summer is almost over and she didn’t go on any tour, so that was a lie, plus other things she has said and they never materialized.
The police said there were NO MARKS on her at all plus the police gave Tila THE OPTION of making a citizen’s arrest which she did.
He is a big dude whereas she is not even 5 feet tall and weights less than 100 pounds, so if he did choke Tila or put his hands on her in anyway there would definitely be visable marks on her and the police would have arrested him without her making a citizen arrest.
It is never right for a man or woman to hit each other, if in fact he did, but I just have my doubts this one. I am waiting to see what else there is to this story.

The fact that there were no marks, and the seemed reluctant to arrest him seem suspicious as the claim by the white girl in the Kobe case or the black “dancer” in the Duke University case. The fact that the men in these charges weren’t likeable or in interracial relationships only sours the public’s opinion of them.

On September 6, 2009 the San Diego Sheriffs Department responded to a citizens complaint that was initiated by Tila Nguyen (aka Tila Tequila). I was taken into custody based upon that complaint. At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided. We would all do our best to help a friend if we considered their actions to be detrimental to their personal safety. I in no way caused any harm to Ms Nguyen, however, paramedics were called and she was examined but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California.
There have been no charges filed against me. I want to thank the San Diego Sheriffs Department for their professionalism. I will continue to cooperate fully with the Department and I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false allegations. I want to put this behind me so I can continue to focus on a successful season for the San Diego Chargers.
Merriman also said that Nguyen is not his girlfriend. According to reports, the couple had been at the Stingaree nightclub on Saturday night and stayed until closing in the early hours Sunday morning. “They seemed in good spirits throughout the evening and were enjoying themselves,” the statement said. “There was no outward indication of any problem between the two of them.”
From the looks of things, Nguyen spent a good portion of the weekend with Merriman, even attending the Chargers-49ers preseason game on Friday night. She sent out messages throughout the past few days, professing on Twitter how smitten she was.
