An armed robbery occurred yesterday that involved a Georgia student and two males who robbed the student at gunpoint.

Over the last two months, there have been a dozen crimes near the Georgia Tech campus which have involved students of the campus being robbed and ambushed by thieves, most of whom are identified as younger teen males.

The crime which took place near Georgia Tech didn’t involve any Georgia Tech students or employees this time and happened around 10 PM.  The suspects were described as two black males, one wearing a multi-colored shirt armed with a handgun and the other with a solid shirt.

college kids are always gettin robbed, crooks see them as “easy” targets. Happened all the time when i was at school, in fact its still happening, if anything its gotten more prevalent, campus cops need to take less time worrying about parked cars and parties

People please be aware of your surroundings. Just because you are in a familiar area doesn’t mean you can’t become a victim. Thank God they didnt take a life.

Same thing happened at Georgia State (right down the street) last night as well. Only it was closer to 12 am. The student was coming from the library to the dorms. Extremely sad!!!!!!!!

WTF??? How is THIS news??? Do you know how many students etc. get robbed at gunpoint all the time??? I went to college in Atlanta so I know for a fact it used to be much worse!

  • Atlanta Native

The local Atlanta news consistently leave out of the fact that the students that are being robbed are walking in the streets late at night (11pm,12am,1am) by themselves. I am not blaming them for being robbed but, you have got to use common sense, especially in these times. Unfortunately the people that are robbed lack common sense. Also,(and not surprising)the media is more sensitive to crimes against non-blacks in Atlanta.
