A “Lil” Positivity: Ludacris Gave Away 20 Cars This Weekend in Atlanta
A "Lil Positivity", Ludacris, News, Seen on the Scene, Video
Posted by Bossip Staff
Ludacris is definitely setting the standards when it comes to celebrities giving back to the community. Normally, the standard is to give away money, food or clothes but a car can make a bigger difference in someone’s life. It can help them get to that job that they were about to take but couldn’t because it’s not on the bus line.
Ludacris brought joy and change to twenty people’s lives over the weekend in Atlanta, GA. In order to qualify for even being chosen, each person had to write a 300 word essay on why they felt that having a car would be a necessity.
Kudos to Ludacris… All rappers are not bad. Maybe this will get him on Oprah now. Ayyyyyyyy Harpo… Pay ATTENTION!!!

Good job! Now all the rest of these Rappers need to get together and start giving out scholarships to young poor kids who do well in school. Do more good deeds you Rapper after you are responsible for making kids think being a thug and going to prison to get raped is cool.

I’m proud of the man, he’s been doing it for years. What is really messed up is the rappers out there that have way much more money than Luda and they don’t do ***** for their community. Luda always said he was a leader.
coolbeans
9/8/09, 11:40:am
That is really nice of him to do that!!! I havent heard about this to til today!
It seems like people always want to talk about the NEGATIVE stuff but when you are doing something POSTIVE they dont acknowledge it! Out of all the blogs I read today BOSSIP IS THE ONLY site so far that posted this!!! Respect.

There should be way more comments on here sharing in the positivity of what this man has done and continues to do when it comes to giving back! We’re so quick to comment on baby mama drama and other sleazy stories but we get MUM when it comes to stories like this!
Giving back is always a beautiful thing. Good job Luda!!!!!!

Im so proud of you Luda!! Great way to give back to the ATL!! Now, if more rappers/rich azz folks from da hood would do things like this instead of buying expensive *****, useless chains, & bull*****, the world would be a better place

@ lyan
Now, you see, you can’t tell people what to do with their money that they worked hard for. It’s nice that some do help out the less fortunate, but in reality THEY DON’T OWE YOU JACK. So, you can’t hold that against those that choose not to give. IT’S THEIR MONEY.
HoneySuckleGirl (KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS....LOL)

@ LYAN
I agree. I was upset when I read the article about the high school band in Brooklyn not having enough money for uniforms and travel expenses to get to Washington, DC for the ignauguration parade. And how many rappers (WELL-KNOWN)rappers at that stood up to the plate. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm….who is from Brooklyn? Again, this type of B.S happens in the black community all the time. You see your neighborhood suffering, you can rap about it but what have you done to help change. At least be a role model to the kids.
Roland
9/8/09, 11:54:am
This is nice to see for a change, rappers behaving like generous people instead of like criminals shooting up everything all the time. Rappers have done a lot of damage to our community now it’s time for them to help clean up the damage they have caused. Keep it up.

That’s what’s up! Luda and his mother are indeed going to be blessed for this!
It’s beautiful to see his mother working beside him to do good things and keep him on the straight and narrow. There are so many people with lots more money than Luda who don’t do things like this and it’s just sad.
Will Smith and Jada, for example, don’t even take care of their families much less do things like this. One of Will’s sister’s lives in the hood in Philly and drives a car that’s probably 10 years old and she works at Houlihan’s (Like a Fridays, for those who don’t know what Houlihan’s is). His other sister lives at home with their mom and they have parties at their house and charge people to get in to make money. When your brother is a gazillionnaire, you shouldn’t have to live like that, but for some reason, Wil thinks everybody can make it the way he can. It’s time for him to wake up and see it isn’t that easy. People have been trying to get on in the music, television, film and other big industries for years and can’t make it most of the time. Things are NOT as easy as people like Will try to make them appear, so if people have been supporting his music and movies since he first came out, the least he can do is try to help others financially. I’ve heard many times that he’s an *****hole, and I truly believe it.

Good work Luda. But our people need knowledge. It more valuable than some material that can be taken away or destroyed.

Even though Luda DID do a righteous deed, most of thse AM radio shows had a “field day” on why Luda made the recipients had to handle the tax,tag and insurance. I say it’s only right that the recipients of these gifts should accept some responsibility for the cars that have been gifted for them. Ol redneck closet DJ’s never have anything to say good. F*ck Bobby Bones. Who is he anyway

That’s an awesome thing he did tax write off or not! I know if i was out there struggling and barely getting by and a car could give me an extra hour and a half with my kids or family because i’m not on a bus, or a way to get to work or school to better my life, then i could give 2 *****s about taxes. i would figure out a way to handle that. At least i would have reliable set of wheels so that i can get from “A” home to “B” work

MORE SCHOLARSHIP MONEY! THAT’S WANT KIDS NEED MOST OF ALL! THE REST OF THE RAPPERS NEED TO STEP UP AND SHOW A LITTLE KINDNESS BY MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR POOR KIDS TO PURSUE A SKILL IN TRADE OR GO TO UNIVERSITY!!!
GG
9/8/09, 13:11:pm
Very nice gesture indeed! I was going to write an essay because we need a second car, but then I realized that this is being greedy because there are people out there they are in greater need.
Ummmmmm....
9/8/09, 13:19:pm
That’s w*****up Luda! It’s good to see him giving back after all the success he’s had.

9/8/09, 13:30:pm
STOP WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO IMPROVE YOUR LIVES DO IT YOURSELF, ya kill me with “rappers should be babysitters” the U.S. government takes nearly half of your money off top and then whenever you buy something and if you chose to own something and you clowns expect rappers to “help the hood” them having a job and not contributing to the crime rate is good enough for me, now these congressmen and representatives are the ones who need to be doing everything in their power to correct the dramatic effects of poverty in the hood
what that?
9/8/09, 13:45:pm
that was very nice of ludacris to do that for the unfortunate..elvis done this for love ones and strangers that was walking down the street..Good for you, Luda!!! hey, could I get one of those cars!! God bless ya!!

See the difference between deep south rappers with actual talent (scarface, luda, andre 300, big boy) and the no-talent bama *****s you people worship?
Luda could’ve taken that $300k and did the stereotypical deep south bama ***** thing and bought a “real” platinum and diamond chain or another bentley that wouldve been repo’d by next June, but instead he chose to help worthy bama *****s/niggettes get to work!
Look at my past posts and you’ll see that Ive always said the only deep south rappers worth listening too or even remotely talented are “luda, andre 300, big boy, scarface and maybe, just maybe TI”
love 6am

Not trying to throw salt in the game, but I want to ssee who still has their car after a year. Sometimes, giving people free things is just keeping them ignorant of their own will power.
I'm Just Me- WE WANT A GENTLEMAN IN THE STREET BUT A FREAK IN THE SHEETS...YES NEGRO!!!
9/8/09, 15:31:pm
Who cares if it is a tax write off.
Can some do something to help me take care of this child that can be written off? Shyt if I got a free car, tax write off or not it would be greatly appreciated!
Too Sweet
9/8/09, 15:40:pm
Well for everyone who is “Not trying to throw salt in the game” but has SOMETHING negative to say… Don’t give back anything ever and see how far that gets you in life… If it is clothes, food, a car, a home, education, etc. It is always appreciated by those that don’t have… You never know what a blessing something is to someone else… That car can help someone get a job get to school get to church… Oh also “Those not throwing salt in the game” I hope you have never received anything “Materialistic” for free either… It would be awful to be a hypocrite… Many blessings Luda!

Paying the tax, title, and license is probably something these people didn’t mind paying because I’m sure it made them feel good to contribute, thanx Luda for helping these people out and may God continue to bless you and your mother.

9/8/09, 16:25:pm
good for him…but from the photos it looks like he’s only helping black people…wonder if that would be considered racist if a white person did that. oh well. that’s nice of him anyway.

9/8/09, 16:27:pm
Kudos to him. I support all the entertainers who truly help out…look what Brad Pitt is doing in Nola for Katrina victims. Remember how Sandra Bullock gave one million? It doesn’t hurt them financially and helps their image and their karma. So now Ima download some more Luda tracks.
On the other hand, f*ck a motherf*ckin’ Paris Hilton and those like her…won’t give them a penny.
