However, I see that these kids really do act this way now days. Dammit. When I was in school, kids were still getting their *****es kicked. Either by:

The teacher (not so much)

Or

The principle with that damned paddle (it hurt too!)

If they could start that back up again, we would see a change. But that would never happen because there are lots of ignorant ***** parents that defend their bad ***** kids! I never understood that. My mother wouldn’t hesitate to kick my ***** if the teacher called and she would let the teacher know she could discipline me if it came to it. Back when I was in school, the teachers really connected and had a relationship with the teachers. Now, you can’t pay alot of parents to even go to conference night. So Sad

My dad used to be a teacher and he told me once that he was substituting and a teen tried to step to him wrong and put his hands on him. My dad called him into the hall and dealt with him. He picked that kid up and let him have it. After that the kid learned his place. You can’t do that now a days but it would sure feel good sometimes. I am going to school and I am graduating next year with a degree in teaching. There is no way some punk kid is going to physically *****ault me and get away with it. We would be scrapping and if the prin*****l had said that to me, we wouldn’t be talking except through my lawyers.

This is sad in soooo many ways! Kids know the limitations teachers have in dealing with them and they use it to their advantage. Now, if the teacher would’ve beat that child like she was a woman in the streets, then the parents would’ve been all over her and everyone else in the school system!

I swear to……I would’ve taken that chance!

I agree with the posters who place blame on the parents. But then again, when children get to a certain age, I believe in my heart that there are very few that wouldn’t know that this behavior is flat out WRONG!

I have a few concerns about the teacher. First, why would you tell a kid who is ready to kick your a** to “Back up”?? “Please take your seat” would have been much better because I can guarantee you she didn’t say “Back up” the way it sounded on the Today Show.

Secondly, she never did explain why or how the girl got behind her desk. If this has happened before in the school then she should have know what was about to go down. She said the girl has caused trouble before.

Third, she looks a little rough herself. Given she may be going through some things, but IDK!! I just feel that when I was in school we wouldn’t let just any teacher get yelled at or beat. Some kids would watch, but if the teacher was cool we would step in.

I understand how kids can be today because I was a mess when I was younger. But I will say that when ever I got into it (words not hands) with a teacher, I was seriously provoked. And my 1 friend who did put his hands on a teacher did so because he was belittled, cursed at, and disrespected. I’m not defending the kid, but this teacher is not as innocent as she seems!!

2. The good ol’ trusted Hot Wheels race track. (The yellow one)

3. The bathroom plunger.

4. The extension cord.

5. The telephone receiver.

6. The mop.

7. The broom.

8. The garden hose.

9. The blade from the ceiling fan.

10. The dog’s chain.

11. The pool stick.

I guess I got an array of ***** lined up for that *****!

I see your point. And I will admit that there are some teachers that really don’t have the student’s best interest at heart. At the same time, teaching has changed so much just in the last ten years alone! There are crimes committed on teachers by students that were literally unheard of a few years ago!

It’s a shame that as a teacher, you have to protect yourself against harm from the very children you choose to educate!

Just look at some of the children that are convicted of *****ulting teachers. What kind of sentencing is normally carried out??? I’ll tell you– they end up at a juvenile dentention center–where they learn skills to master their “crafts” and graduate to more heineous crimes!

This is to do with no discipline at home, no 2 parent house hold, i’m not saying single parents don’t do a good job but 2 is always better than one and lastly shcools have no power the transferred all the power to students so they run wild, When i went to school in Zambia best believe if you cut out of line I would get a ruler to your ***** or my hand, and when i got home my mom or dad was waiting to whoop my *****, there is no back chat even when i came to school here in England though they were no beatings, talking back was not something you did because i was scared of detention now that means nothing, cleaning the field means nothing, chances are your friends will be on detention so you can chat, writting an essay though boring doesn’t do anything, then parents take no action to put their child in line, the naughty corner doesn’t work, taking away the ps2/3 doesn’t work, cutting t.v or taking their car does’n work, but i’ll tell you if you whoop that ***** it will work because that ***** hurts like hell, enough to stop one from being to fast with their mouth at home and in school.

It’s not the location so the comment about its B-more was useless and reckless use of the mouth. This kind of activity is happening everywhere and it’s really sad; I blame the parents as well as the students. Parents have to drop in on their children from time to time to put a little fear in them. The prin*****l is dead wrong and the teacher did right~cause I’m most certain that she could have beat the living hell out of that child but she chose not to for the sake of her career.

I wish one of these teachers would be the living crap out of one of these kids. You have crossed the boundaries of being a “child” the moment you put your hands on a grown person. I don’t want kids around me, because if some kid did that to me, it would be involuntary for me to start beating the crap out of them without thought about them being a child. I would not be feeling bad either. Not all kids do this. Children who are taught don’t do this. This is a direct result of not teaching kids, but had that women been crazy like folks are in real life and shot one, she would have been the crazy one. If you really are trying to prepare your child for real life, you tell them “not everyone is sane, and you can lose your life bothering folks that you have no business bothering”. That is a life lesson you teach to kids. Let them go up to a stranger who isn’t quite right or is having a bad day, suicidal and all, man/woman/child/dog/catr would lose their life in behind being stupid. Gosh, if you ever meet kids that were raised, they are gifts, but kids like this are nothing more than a nuisance in a small package.

MJ….a mess is fine. “A mess” can be handled but killing and beating on folks is not acting “a mess”. That is on your way to getting in the system behavoir. No one has a problem with putting these kids in prison for life when it leads to that and no one cares about them when they get 25 and can’t take care of themselves, but for gods sake don’t spank one. I live in DC and I was walking down the street and these two young girl (maybe 14) looked me up and down as i walked into the store…snuffed and said “stuck up black *****”…so direspectful. I simply turned and said that saying things like that to random strangers was extremely inappropriate and not becoming of such attractive young women…they then proceed to threaten to “whoop my *****” mind you I am GROWN! Their mother was sitting near the window and came outside and looked at ME as if I started with them and thier mother threateed me and her two ignorant ***** daughter cheered her on. At that moment I had to collect myself and realize you can’t cross witts with jack*****. Jack***** parents make jack***** kids…sigh.

kids these days have lost so much respect for their elders, you see them talking back even to strangers who are older than them, on the bus they don’t get up and give seats to older people, they block seats by putting their feet up. Children have way to much freedom with nothing construdtive to do at home and lack discipline in the home, that is where it all starts. I mean there is no need to over discipline children but to a point that the know that a certain standard is expected. My growing up, you don’t talk back when i was being spoken to by my parents, i respect any elder coming into our home and do well in school. I took that respect into school, very few children carry their good home behavior into school, they forget their morals in favour of looking cool, only that is what lands them in trouble with no friends to rescue them.

As well kids have too much freedom not enough family structure, or family focus, spedning too much tme in their rooms doing God knows what, having sex way to early, watching the prvocative music video’s and tv shows makes them believe they have a right to be grown when they are not. At the end of the day it all start in the home if the home is borkne how can we expect the child to suddenly know how to conduct themselve, in saying that they are children who don’t have the same take, their cir*****stances do not dictate their life or how they treat others

I work with teens also but I let them know off the bat I will get out there with them and pay the price later. Instill fear in that ***** (it worked for me) but you gotta mean it at the same time. Violence driven by anger — that’s what Pointe Coupee Parish officials are calling the beating of a teacher at Livonia High School. As FOX News Louisiana’s Kiran Chawla Police said the student was responding to his teacher writing him up.

As stated this type of thing happens in other places besides B-More; That’s why this has to be a world-wide effort to correct the wrong that is happening to our children be at white, black, chinese…maybe not chinese, you know what I’m saying.
