COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are Jay Z and Beyonce really so important to the black community? God, I wish I was born in the 40s. Then I would be alive in the 60s when REAL progress was taking place. And the celebrities black people looked up to were Malcolm, Martin, Patrice, Kwame, Julius Nyerere, Che, Angela Davis..

and now our heros are people who cater to white audiences, singing about being “bootylicious” and hustling….

Are we forgetting that this is Jay-Z (my homie) & Beyonce’s (my homegirl’s) fault? Yes, their fault! THEY’RE the ones who chose to keep the wedding/marriage a secret. THEY’RE the ones refusing to confirm that they’re even married. THEY’RE the ones choosing not to wear any rings in public. But yet, it’s mainstream media’s responsibility to put it on the main cover of the magazines, or else it’s racist!!??? Please, drop that “Roots” mentality, please.

If the 2 parties involved are refusing to be public about something like this, then stop blaming print media for not making it the focus. That’s not racism, that’s just common frickin’ sense!

You’re going to call print media racist, yet, didn’t a Latina get front-cover coverage for her wedding to a minority basketball player. Didn’t another Latina get repeated front-page coverage over her relationships, finally getting married again to another Latin minority singer, her repeated tries to get pregnant, and her getting pregnant finally??? The answer is yes. All those things were on the cover of US Weekly, People, and every other mainstream gossip mag on the planet. And haven’t we seen black-ass Oprah on front covers like those many times along the way? The answer is “yes” again. And haven’t we seen BEYONCE HERSELF on those same covers many times throughout her career???? Yes again. And now, we’ve got Rihanna on those covers all the time too, these days, ALONG WITH those white celebs.

Yet, AFTER ALL THAT, some of us still have the balls to say it’s racist because Beyonce & Jay’s wedding wasn’t the front cover??? I love the selective memory that comes with that “We Shall Overcome” mentality. Bottom line is, if you go out of your way to keep something secret in this case, then go out publicly denying anything ever happened, don’t be shocked if it’s not going to quite make top story on the front cover. There’s no color in that. Get over it. Thanks, just my opinion.
